Primary Responsibilities:
- The Associate Software Engineer II will support the design, development, testing, and deployment of AI/ML capabilities for the Avery/Broker platform, contributing to solutions that enhance broker and employer experiences across sales, enrollment, and customer engagement workflows
- The role will develop and maintain software components supporting AI-driven capabilities such as plan recommendations, document processing, conversational AI, workflow automation, and enterprise integrations
- Working closely with senior engineers, product owners, architects, and AI/ML teams, the engineer will participate in application development, API integration, system testing, troubleshooting, and production support activities
- The role will contribute to the implementation of cloud-native solutions, reusable software components, and AI-enabled services while adhering to enterprise engineering standards, security requirements, and development best practices
- The engineer will actively participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, continuous integration and deployment processes, and continuous improvement initiatives to help accelerate delivery of business-critical capabilities across the Avery/Lingo ecosystem
- The role aligns with the Software Engineering and AI/ML Engineering job families supporting application development, automation, and AI-powered solutions

Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience)
- 2+ years of experience in software development with hands-on experience building, testing, and supporting enterprise applications.
Strong proficiency in Java, Python, C#, JavaScript, or similar programming languages is required, along with experience developing REST APIs, microservices, and web-based applications - Working knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP, source control systems, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development methodologies.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of software design principles, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting techniques, with the ability to develop scalable and maintainable code
- Proven analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are required, along with the ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional product and engineering teams.
Preferred Qualification:
- Experience or exposure to AI/ML technologies, Generative AI, conversational AI, workflow automation, API integrations, or data processing solutions
