  • Positions in this function are involved in the definition, management, and implementation of technology focused projects/programs. Do not use this function is not used for project/program management in non-technology roles. Positions are business specialists and technology generalists that manage, direct and interface with business clients. Individuals in this function may be involved in:
  • Defining work strategies - Planning the sprint and PI is extremely important. At times we tend to skip planning the velocity, planning the capacities of the resources, planning the USs correctly, slotting the correct USs, prioritizing the USs. All these steps are important
  • Aligning these with resources and desired client outcomes, and overseeing planning and execution of the work - Feedbacks are very important. More important is the inspection all along the PI & sprint to identify if we are aligned towards achieving the goal.
  • Ensuring technology solutions are managed to support business strategies, often working with senior management -
  • Important aspect of having the resources aligned is to convey to them what are we trying to achieve. We need to make them believe in what we are doing and why! At times I have seen that the leads are disconnected to the cause and goal of the product. This is disheartening as the leads who are suppose to motivate the resources to perform and do more than what they do generally, are the ones who are themselves a bit lost. Close collaboration with leads
  • Directing the integration of technical aspects of all related projects/programs - Integration is a simple word but at times the problem is the complexity involved with integration

  • Monitoring financials to ensure budget compliance
  • Be able to understand Release management
  • Projects are more stand-alone than programs; program management is typically the orchestration of several related projects. At entry level individual contributor roles, the primary focus will be project management. As one advances through the career path, their focus may be project or program focused, depending on business need Impact of work is most often at the local level
