Position in this function is under general direction of the Executive Director, the Clinical Director partners with a designated Service Line Chair and Directors - Service Line to assure the execution of Reliant Medical Group and Atrius Health's strategy and goals at an organization-wide specialty level. Supervises and manages Clinical Nurse Managers and Nurse Supervisors in a designated service line and collaborates with Site Administrators to assure that LPNs and RNs in a designated service line are aligned to fulfill our mission and contribute to the success of the service line at the individual site practice level. Ensure that nurses are delivering high quality, safe patient care and that nursing staff are aligned to fulfill our mission and contribute to success of the service line at the site. Collaborates with the Service Line Chair, Directors - Service Line, Practice Administrators, and department leadership in planning the role of nursing staff in achieving practice goals.
May provide nursing leadership and clinical management of a service line department clinical/procedural unit (e.g., Oncology, Endoscopy), partnering with the designated medical leadership and associated Administrators. Assumes fiscal responsibility in partnership with the Chair and Directors - Service Line. Develops relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and standard work for nursing with the service line. Develops a cohesive staff development strategy for nurses in the service line, including clinical training and coaching in support of service line initiatives. Maintains accountability for achieving service line goals. Assures that nurses are practicing in accordance with legal parameters, guidelines, and standards of clinical care. Manages projects and provides team leadership for service line-based initiatives.
Leads patient care improvement initiatives. Serves as a mentor and role model to nurse leaders, nursing (LPN and RN) and professional staff. In collaboration with appropriate Clinical Nurse Managers, Nurse Supervisors and Practice Administrators, addresses service line-specific performance management issues. Consults with Service Line Leadership regarding standards of service line nursing care, safety, and scope of practice. Recruits, interviews, and selects Clinical Nurse Managers and Nurse Supervisors in service line in collaboration with site and service line leadership. Ensures nurses in the organization maintain current licensure. Ensures strict adherence to top of license practice in the service line. May provide direct clinical care in a designated practice. Serves as a liaison to senior management concerning issues pertinent to the service line. Travel to practice sites as needed. Collaborates with and provides support to local leadership to redesign workflows and responsibilities to ensure efficient and effective care delivery in alignment with nursing and service line/specialty priorities.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Provides clinical expertise and professional leadership to nurses within the service line. May provide direct clinical care in a designated practice within a department
- Provides leadership in collaboration with Clinical Nurse Managers and local service line
- Leads quality care and patient safety. Acts as a role model and clinical resource to staff in areas of specialization
- Champion patient experience, quality, and safety
- Responsible for supporting an organizational environment, compliant with all associated and applicable regulations
- Mentors nursing and operational leaders
- Recommends, designs, and executes service line- or specialty-specific improvements in clinical operations and centrally managed programs
- Understands the clinical operations of the practice, analyzes, and identifies workflow efficiencies and proposes staffing needs
- Partners with Human Resources in the development of recruitment staffing strategies. Ensures clinical leadership is an integral part of the process
- Understand and implements top of license nursing roles. Ensures that the Service Lines strictly adheres to all provisions
- Acts as a resource and provides clinical service line content expertise to enhance managerial decision making
- Drives and supports organizational Hoshin goals by developing and implementing targeted programs
- Develops service line-specific staff development, supporting clinical orientation and training. Facilitates opportunities for education, mentoring, and professional growth and development for all staff
- Works collaboratively with the Executive Director of Clinical Operations & Nursing, Practice Administrators, and clinical leadership to address issues across the organization
- Works with Clinical Nurse Managers and Nurse Supervisors to ensure coordination and consistency between sites as well as assure safe hand-offs between the office practice and services. Collaborates with Service Line Chairs and senior management regarding nursing practices and general practice management
- Serves as a consultant/mentor to Clinical Nurse Managers and Nurse Supervisors in the coaching, counseling, and evaluation of LPNs, and RNs regarding service line-specific clinical and operational issues. Acts as a role model and Service Excellence leader
- Investigates and resolves problems related to clinical and/or non-clinical staff relations within the service line
- Implements top of license nursing workflows; ensures that the service line strictly adheres to all provisions. May participate in contract negotiations as a designee
- Participates in service line and nursing workgroups, committees, meetings and special projects
- Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
- BSN
- Current license to practice - RN professional nursing in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
- 7+ years of experience in healthcare and demonstrated leadership skills
- 5+ years of related experience required to include leadership or management in healthcare or related field
- Proven ability to act cooperatively and collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team
- Proven solid interpersonal skills and communication skills
- Demonstrated commitment to the principals of collaboration and teamwork
- Financial acumen
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Nursing or related field (e.g., MSN, MHA, MPH)
- Current Certification in Ambulatory Care
- 3+ years of clinical experience within specialty area preferred, ambulatory setting
- Management /leadership experience in a nursing collective bargaining environment
- Working knowledge of organizational systems and operations

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $112,700 to $193,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
