We are seeking an experienced Director, Software Engineering to lead multiple engineering teams responsible for delivering scalable, secure, and innovative technology solutions that support critical healthcare operations and business objectives. This leader will oversee geographically distributed engineering teams across global locations, drive operational excellence, champion AI-enabled engineering practices, and build a high-performing organization focused on delivery, reliability, and continuous improvement.

This role will serve as a strategic technology leader, partnering closely with Product, Operations, and Business stakeholders while developing engineering talent and ensuring successful execution of complex technology initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Engineering Leadership & Delivery
  • Lead and oversee multiple software engineering teams responsible for delivering enterprise-scale products and platforms
  • Own end-to-end software delivery across multiple technical assets, services, and initiatives
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business priorities
  • Establish engineering roadmaps, delivery plans, and operational strategies that support organizational goals
  • Balance innovation, delivery throughput, platform stability, and operational excellence
  • Adapt priorities and execution plans to address business, technical, and operational challenges
• Technical Strategy & Architecture
  • Provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise across software engineering, system design, delivery methodologies, and modern engineering practices
  • Drive engineering excellence through architecture reviews, development standards, governance, and quality practices
  • Introduce innovative solutions to complex technical challenges
  • Recommend and implement improvements that increase scalability, efficiency, reliability, and performance
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and software engineering best practices
• AI & Innovation
  • Lead and scale AI-driven software engineering initiatives across the organization
  • Drive adoption of artificial intelligence, machine learning, intelligent automation, and data-driven engineering solutions
  • Identify opportunities to leverage AI technologies to improve operational efficiency, product capabilities, and engineering productivity
  • Ensure AI initiatives align with strategic business objectives and deliver measurable outcomes
• Operational Excellence
  • Design, implement, and monitor engineering operational metrics and performance indicators
  • Establish accountability around reliability, availability, quality, security, and delivery performance
  • Lead root cause analysis efforts for critical incidents and develop sustainable corrective actions
  • Drive continuous improvement programs and foster a data-driven decision-making culture
  • Clearly communicate operational risks, issues, and business impacts to executive stakeholders
• People Leadership
  • Build, lead, and develop high-performing engineering teams
  • Recruit, coach, mentor, and retain top engineering talent
  • Develop future leaders and succession plans within the organization
  • Provide clear direction, performance management, and career development opportunities
  • Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and high-accountability culture
• Stakeholder Management
  • Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Operations, and Business leaders
  • Influence executive stakeholders and communicate strategic technology direction
  • Align engineering initiatives to business objectives and customer outcomes
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration across global and geographically dispersed teams

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 10+ years of progressive software engineering experience
• 6+ years of leadership experience managing software engineering organizations at Manager or Director level
• 5+ years of experience delivering enterprise technology products in large-scale production environments
• 5+ years of experience partnering with Product leadership to successfully deliver strategic initiatives
• 3+ years of experience presenting to and managing executive stakeholders
• 3+ years of experience leading or delivering AI-related technology initiatives
• Solid experience leading globally distributed engineering teams
• Experience managing multiple technical assets, programs, or product portfolios

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working within large, complex enterprise organizations
• Experience leading teams across the US, India, Philippines, and other global locations
• Experience driving engineering transformation and organizational change
• Solid knowledge of modern software development methodologies, cloud technologies, DevOps, and platform engineering
• Proven ability to build and lead high-performing engineering teams
• Proven solid business acumen with the ability to align technical decisions with organizational objectives
• Demonstrated commitment to inclusion, collaboration, trust, and employee development
• Demonstrated high level of empathy for both customers and internal stakeholders

Team & Organizational Scope

• Lead an organization of approximately 10-15 direct and indirect engineering professionals
• Collaborate extensively with Engineering, Product, Operations, and Business leadership teams
• Support engineering teams across the United States, India, Philippines, and other global locations
• Responsible for multiple technical assets, platforms, and software delivery initiatives

The ideal candidate is a seasoned technology leader who combines deep software engineering expertise with strong business and organizational leadership capabilities. They have successfully led global engineering teams, delivered enterprise-scale solutions, and championed modern engineering and AI-driven practices. This individual is equally comfortable discussing architecture, mentoring leaders, influencing executives, and driving strategic business outcomes while fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Shift: Flexible with overlap to US hours (typically 8:00 PM - 5:00 AM PH time)
