Leads GPO account organization, serving as internal and external facing client leader with accountability for operational excellence and client expansion. Builds solid relationships with GPO participant executives, GPO leaders and their teams, and executives across the UHG enterprise. Maintains, expands, and actions a pipeline of prospective participants.

For all hires within 30 minutes of an office in Minnesota or Washington, D.C., you'll be required to work a minimum of four days per week in-office.
Primary Responsibilities:
Day-to-Day Client Management
- Manage E2E client relationships for GPO book of business, aligned to enterprise goals and long-term value
- Be in the market and knowledgeable, balancing urgent with strategic
- Champion initiatives that optimize client satisfaction, retention and NPS
- Build executive-level client relationships through solid performance, strategic partnership, entertainment and events
- Design and facilitate high-value Client forums, meetings that drive strategic alignment, innovation, and actionable outcomes
- Establish effective operating / service model for team, clients and with partners (internal / external), championing consistent engagement across org
- Support client teams in proactively communicating and managing impact of enterprise initiatives (e.g. new product rollouts, etc.)
- Navigate escalations / client issues with executive presence, mobilizing teams, negotiating with client, and ensuring timely resolution
- Build and engage internal "table" of critical leadership stakeholders, partners and execution teams
- Drive ongoing improvements in team performance, process efficiency, and service delivery, embedding a culture of innovation and accountability
Renewal Strategy & Execution
- Plan proactive renewal strategy, including relationship and competitive strategy, UW / financials, product upsell, rebates, formulary, etc.
- Optimize margin expansion opportunity through renewals, effectively aligning solutions and programs to client business objectives, needs and critical challenges - emphasis on enterprise opportunities
- Execute E2E competitive RFPs, following established guidelines and demonstrating appropriate awareness to seek approval if deviations are necessary
P&L Ownership
- Proactive financial performance management, monitoring and adjusting as needed
- Effectively monitor and optimize multiple factors that influence client profitability (pricing, rebates, legal, formulary, utilization, pharmacy, etc.)
Enterprise & Industry Thinking
- Partner proactively, consistently and effectively across UHG, leveraging full team, strategizing with full enterprise value / offerings at the center, restlessly looking for ways to drive value and connectivity
- Be informed and have a point of view around industry activity, insights and trends, and proactively share with clients, consultants and internal teams
Leadership Effectiveness
- Demonstrate awareness of leadership responsibility, act in accordance with cultural values and norms, and effectively manage personal impact
- Exhibit sound judgment around decisioning, teams and resources, client engagement and confidentiality
- Follow established guidelines, processes, approval requirements and operating norms consistently
- Meet deadlines, prepare and distribute pre-reads, come prepared to meetings, engage effectively, and communicate professionally over email / in meetings
- Encourage your teams to cast a positive shadow and manage their impact internally and with clients
Team Management
- Client management team leadership, including training, development, EXI and organizational needs/guidelines
- Foster team engagement and cohesion through regular, consistent team cadences, including staff meetings, town halls, 1:1s, listening circles, etc.
- Educate and develop team members to consistently elevate performance, including how to manage a renewal, competitive renewal, drive strategic dialogue and upsells, negotiate or engage in difficult conversations, etc.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 15 or more years of client management experience
- Solid knowledge of PBM is required
- Prior experience with drug rebate programs
- Experience in a client facing position with common contact with owner and C-Level client representatives
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree
- Pharmacy, finance, or accounting background

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $200,400 to $343,500 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
