We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer who thrives in an AI‑first engineering culture. This role combines Python backend development, modern frontend frameworks (React/Flutter), cloud engineering on AWS, and daily use of GenAI tools to deliver high‑impact healthcare technology solutions.
AI is not experimental here - it is a core part of how we design, build, test, and operate software.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, deploy, and support enterprise‑grade full‑stack applications
- Build Python‑based microservices and REST APIs at scale
- Develop intuitive, high‑performance React or Flutter user interfaces

- Review, validate, and refine AI‑generated code to meet Optum's quality, security, and compliance standards
- Architect and deploy solutions across AWS, Azure, and hybrid cloud environments
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and modern deployment strategies (blue‑green, canary, rolling)
- Implement secure‑by‑design practices (authentication, authorization, encryption, secrets management)
- Collaborate with product, UX, data, platform, and security teams
- Mentor engineers and help scale AI‑assisted engineering best practices across teams
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate degree or equivalent experience
- Solid experience with AWS (primary), exposure to Azure / hybrid cloud
Key Skills
- Python Development (FastAPI / Django / Flask)
- Full Stack Engineering (Frontend + Backend ownership)
- End‑to‑end feature ownership (design → build → deploy → support)
- React or Flutter (Modern UI development)
Microservices & REST APIs - AI‑Assisted Development (GitHub Copilot, GenAI tools)
- CI/CD & DevOps (Automated build, test, deploy pipelines)
- Secure Application Development (Auth, encryption, compliance)
- SQL & NoSQL database design and optimization
- Vulnerability remediation and SDLC security practices
- Deployment strategies: blue‑green, canary, rolling
- Production support and operational readiness
AI‑Assisted Engineering
- Daily use of enterprise GenAI tools (GitHub Copilot, Codex, Microsoft 365 Copilot)
- Prompt engineering for code, tests, documentation, and research
- Reviewing and validating AI‑generated code
- Creating reusable AI instructions, workflows, or agents
- Applying AI to improve developer productivity and quality
- AI is not optional - it's part of how work gets done
