We are seeking a Sr Systems Management Analyst to join the Optum Software Provisioning Operations team. This role is responsible for the execution, monitoring, and support of workstation software and security patch deployments, as well as operational troubleshooting and reporting within a large enterprise environment.


The ideal candidate is a hands on systems management professional with strong technical depth, a customer focused mindset, and the ability to independently analyze and resolve software deployment issues while contributing to operational improvements.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support software provisioning operations, including application and security patch deployments across the enterprise
  • Monitor and troubleshoot production software deployment issues, identifying root causes and recommending solutions
  • Analyze deployment failures, environmental issues, and tooling behavior to ensure successful job completion
  • Monitor ongoing deployment activity, proactively investigating, alerting, and advising on risks or failures
  • Collect, analyze, and report systems management KPIs and operational metrics
  • Develop, update, and maintain operational and procedural documentation
  • Contribute to operational roadmap initiatives and continuous improvement efforts
  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to support end user computing environments
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational objectives
  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience in workstation software and security patch management, deployment, troubleshooting, and systems analysis
  • 3+ years of experience with systems management tools such as MECM and/or Altiris
  • 3+ years of experience monitoring, gathering, and reporting operational KPIs/metrics
  • Proven solid attention to detail with a focus on minimizing business impact and deployment risk
  • Proven solid written and verbal communication skills with technical and non technical audiences
  • Proven ability to analyze deployment environments, toolsets, and system behaviors
  • Proven ability to assess risks, alternatives, and consequences before making decisions
  • Proven customer service-oriented mindset with experience supporting end users or operational teams


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Software packaging experience
  • Project planning or coordination experience
  • Experience supporting large scale enterprise workstation environments
