The Clinical Administrative Coordinator position is distinguished by the job duties and responsibilities, education/training requirements, level of difficulty of processing information and program or functional operations and the nature of the interactions, tracking and reporting conditions in a multi-tasking manner characteristic of coordinating differing elements within the job to create process efficiencies. 

This position is full time. Employees are required to work an 8-hour shift during our normal business hours of 7:00am - 7:00pm PST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.  There is weekend rotation coverage required for this role.

We offer 2 weeks of paid training. The hours during training will be 8:00am to 4:30pm PST, Monday - Friday and then will move into an on the job training.  Training will be conducted virtually from your home.  

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work with hospitals, clinics, facilities and the clinical team to manage requests for services from members and/or providers via phone, fax, and/or provider portal
  • Process incoming and outgoing referrals, and prior authorizations, including intake, notification and census roles
  • Assist the clinical staff with setting up documents/triage cases for Clinical Coverage Review
  • Handle resolution/inquiries from members and/or providers

OTHER WORK AS REQUIRED/REQUESTED

  • May be assigned special project or other assignments and work tasks that are generally within the scope and level of the position, and relative to the need for flexible Company operations.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED OR equivalent years of work experience.
  • Must be 18 years old OR older
  • 2+ years of customer service experience 
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel (create, edit, save documents and spreadsheets) and Outlook (email and calendar management)
  • Basic knowledge of Medical Terminology 
  • Ability to work an 8-hour shift during our normal business hours of 7:00am - 7:00pm Pacific. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. There is weekend rotation coverage required for this role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience with prior authorizations
  • Experience working within the health care Industry and with health care insurance
  • Experience working in a hospital, physician's office or medical clinic setting
  • Clerical or administrative support background
  • Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT codes
  • Experience working in a call center

Telecommuting Requirements: 

  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable) 
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy. 
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $17.98 - $32.12 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
