This position is National Remote. You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. Join the team as a Financial Consultant supporting SG&A finance for OptumRx PBM Operations, with a particular focus on the Prior Authorization team within Operations. In this role, you will support quarterly forecasting, monthly analysis of SG&A expense variances, and ongoing performance management for key operational expense drivers. You will partner across the broader finance organization and with operations business teams to translate financial results into actionable insights, support cost management initiatives, and help leaders make informed decisions. We are looking for a rigorous, detail-minded finance professional who can navigate complex financial data, align diverse stakeholders, and drive solutions from root-cause identification to implementation.

This position is full-time, Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm local time. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

We offer weeks of on-the-job training. The hours of the training will be based on schedule or will be discussed on your first day of employment.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop, perform, and manage SG&A financial analysis and performance management for OptumRx PBM Operations, with primary support for the Prior Authorization operations team
• Assist with quarterly forecasting activities for supported SG&A expense areas, including development of assumptions, review of run-rate trends, and alignment with business expectations
• Analyze monthly SG&A expense variances to identify key drivers, risks, opportunities, and operational trends impacting actual results compared to forecast, prior periods, and budget
• Develop and maintain financial reports that clearly communicate actual results, forecasted performance, expense trends, and variance explanations to finance and business stakeholders
• Partner with broader finance teams and operations business leaders to understand business activity, evaluate financial impacts, and support informed decision-making
• Support cost management initiatives by identifying expense drivers, evaluating opportunities for efficiency, and coordinating action plans with finance and operations partners
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes by ensuring accuracy, transparency, and timely delivery of key SG&A financial insights

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, OR a related field
• 3+ years of experience in corporate finance, FP&A, financial analysis, accounting, OR a related analytical role
• Experience conducting financial analysis involving expense management, forecasts, trends, operational drivers, and variances
• Experience with using Microsoft PowerPoint to summarize financial information for business stakeholders
• Intermediate proficiency (or higher) with Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) industry experience, preferably within operations finance or SG&A expense support
• Experience supporting operations teams, call center environments, clinical operations, Prior Authorization, or related healthcare operational functions
• Experience with Essbase and Oracle EPM
• Experience with SG&A forecasting, budget management, cost management initiatives, or operational expense reporting

• Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
• Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
• Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.

Soft Skills:

• Demonstrated analytical skills with strong attention to detail, accuracy, and data integrity
• Demonstrated ability to communicate financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance partners
• Strong ownership mentality with a demonstrated track record of identifying issues and driving then through to solution implementation
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision, prioritize tasks effectively, and take proactive initiative

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $72,800 to $130,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
