This position is National Remote. You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in Minneapolis, Virginia, Maryland, or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office for a minimum of four (4) days per week.

This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 7am - 4pm CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. 

We offer 2 weeks of paid training. The hours of training will be aligned with your schedule.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Apply basic instructional design models: ADDIE phases 
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather and organize content 
  • Partner with other training support and subject matter experts to develop high-quality training materials 
  • Plan development work for training courses 
  • Ensure training objectives align with business goals 
  • Design course outlines and build storyboards, including scripting and visual elements 
  • Create and design instructor led training courses 
  • Create interactive knowledge checks and activities that enhance learning 
  • Develop and update job aids  
  • Review content for accuracy, consistent, and grammar and formatting 
  • Review course outlines and provide structure and content feedback 
  • Review web-based content to ensure alignment with storyboard and learning objectives 
  • Test courses before making accessible to learners  
  • Ensure accessibility and usability standards are followed 
  • Facilitate "train the trainer" sessions for instructor-led courses 
  • Assist in evaluating training effectiveness and identifying process improvements 
  • Communicate process changes to stakeholders clearly and effectively 
  • Participate in system UAT testing and cross-functional collaboration

Required Qualifications 

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • 6+ months of experience in instructional design, training, curriculum design, or professional development content creation 
  • Experience translating complex concepts into engaging learning experiences  
  • Experience working on projects that align content with learning objectives and organizational goals 
  • Experience supporting projects that facilitate growth and skill building across diverse audiences 
  • Experience working collaboratively with cross functional teams 
  • Experience managing multiple projects and meet deadlines 
  • Experience with ADDIE 
  • Understands learning theories and how to apply them when creating effective, engaging, and scalable learning experiences 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience working in Articulate Storyline/Rise 
  • Experience with needs analysis   

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $23.89 - $42.69 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
