This position is National Remote. You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in Minneapolis, Virginia, Maryland, or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office for a minimum of four (4) days per week.

Colleagues in this role will work with subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop content for training modules and reference materials. They will update/create electronic training resources utilizing e-learning software and best practices for adult learning. They will collaborate with teams within the organization to ensure resources developed conform to brand standard. They will evaluate training processes, tools and activities for effectiveness and implement modifications as necessary. They will assist and partner with the Veteran Services (VS) Quality Support and Training Supervisor to update and enhance all areas of provider training.

This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

We offer weeks of on-the-job training. The hours of training will be aligned with your schedule.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Take a lead role in the development of VS Quality Support materials and training modules
  • Facilitate electronic, virtual and in-person training for practitioners in the VBA provider network
  • Create and update reference materials and provider communications
  • Evaluate training processes, tools and activities for effectiveness
  • Perform needs analysis and present improvement initiatives to Training Supervisor
  • Work closely with other operational areas to develop required training
  • Research and recommend new training techniques and training resources

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED OR equivalent work experience
  • Must be 18 years of age OR older
  • 2+ years of experience working with online learning and e-learning content development and deployment, ideally in a medical or educational setting
  • Experience with Training Development software, Learning Management systems, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and modern web browsers
  • Experience applying training theories and principles, adult learning theory and educational pedagogy
  • Experience comprehending and interpreting basic medical communication, language, and terminology

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience training in a healthcare-related field
  • Leadership experience in a business setting and/or military experience
  • Experience utilizing project management techniques
  • Proficiency in the use of learning software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Articulate Storyline, InDesign, SnagIt, Camtasia, SharePoint, etc
  • Working knowledge of the healthcare industry

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.

Soft Skills:

  • Attention to detail and time-management skills, is highly organized, and has the demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects of varying complexity
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex information verbally and in writing

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $60,200 - $107,400 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
