The Program Manager is a member of UnitedHealth Group's Corporate Security team, reporting to the Senior Director, Domestic Security Operations. Corporate Security is responsible for the Enterprise Workplace Security Program that ensures the protection of the company's workforce, physical assets, and business operations through strategic security risk management, operational excellence, and cross-functional collaboration.
The Program Manager is accountable for supporting strategic planning, governance, execution, and continuous improvement of Domestic Security Operations programs and initiatives. Under the direction of the Senior Director, Domestic Security Operations, this role is responsible for advancing operational maturity by establishing standardized program management practices, improving enterprise visibility into strategic initiatives, and enabling informed decision-making through executive reporting, analytics, and governance.
Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the Program Manager serves as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to Program Leaders by coordinating complex, cross-functional initiatives, facilitating program governance, monitoring organizational priorities, identifying operational risks, and driving accountability for key deliverables. This role exercises influence across a highly matrixed organization without direct authority, fostering collaboration and alignment among stakeholders to ensure successful execution of Corporate Security priorities.
The Program Manager is responsible for developing program dashboards, performance metrics, executive communications, governance processes, and standardized documentation that enhance operational transparency and improve business outcomes. Through data analysis, process optimization, and strategic coordination, this role supports leadership in identifying opportunities, mitigating risks, and advancing the long-term maturity of Domestic Security Operations.
The Program Manager will build and maintain strong partnerships across Corporate Security and enterprise stakeholders while supporting the overall mission, scalability, and continued evolution of the Domestic Security Operations program.
This position is full time, Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules between the operating hours of 8:00 am - 6:00 pm in your respective time zone. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.
We offer 3-4 weeks of on-the-job training. The hours of training will be aligned with your schedule.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support the planning, execution, coordination, and tracking of strategic initiatives across the Domestic Security Operations portfolio.
- Develop and maintain a centralized project dashboard detailing project scope, business audience, ownership, status updates, risks, dependencies, and target completion dates.
- Partner with Program Leaders to inventory, organize, and assess program documentation, identifying opportunities for content refreshes and standardization.
- Develop and maintain a prioritized roadmap for content updates, coordinating review cycles, stakeholder approvals, milestones, and completion timelines.
- Establish governance processes to ensure documentation remains current, organized, and aligned with operational objectives.
- Learn, administer, and maintain the team's operational metrics dashboard while identifying opportunities to enhance reporting and performance measurement.
- Analyze operational data and translate complex information into executive-level dashboards, presentations, and visualizations using Microsoft PowerPoint and other reporting tools.
- Meet with Program Leaders to evaluate Microsoft Teams channels, documentation repositories, and collaboration spaces to improve organization, accessibility, and knowledge management.
- Serve as the liaison between the Senior Director and Program Leaders by coordinating communications, tracking action items, and ensuring accountability for deliverables.
- Establish recurring governance meetings with Program Leaders to review project status, risks, milestones, and strategic priorities.
- Prepare executive briefings, status reports, presentations, and communications to support leadership decision-making.
- Identify operational efficiencies and recommend process improvements that strengthen governance and program maturity.
- Collaborate across Corporate Security and enterprise partners to support strategic initiatives and organizational objectives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma / GED OR equivalent work experience
- Must be 18 years of age OR older
- 5+ years of progressive experience in program management, project management, business operations, strategic initiatives, OR a related discipline within a complex, matrixed organization.
- Experience managing multiple enterprise initiatives simultaneously with minimal direction.
- Ability to establish program governance, standardize processes, and improve operational maturity.
- Experience developing executive dashboards, project portfolios, performance metrics, and reporting for senior leadership.
- Analytical skills with the ability to transform data into actionable insights and executive-level recommendations.
- Experience influencing stakeholders and coordinating work across multiple business functions without direct authority.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Smartsheet, Teams, and SharePoint. (Create Powerpoints, Spreadsheets, Pivot Tables, Present using these programs)
- Ability to work full time, Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules between the operating hours of 8:00 am - 6:00 pm in your respective time zone.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $72,800 - $130,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
