This position is National Remote. You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in Minneapolis, Virginia, Maryland, or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office for a minimum of four (4) days per week.

This position works on a wide range of activities related to department including developing tools for strategic planning and analysis and development of action plans and project plans. Assists the executive with business process and policy development of programs and productivity initiatives. Develops and analyzes monthly reports and a variety of ad hoc reports to support key departmental and corporate initiatives. Works with senior managers within the division as well as other departments to document, drive or improve processes. Represents the executive at meetings when directed; supports the executive by providing extensive professional assistance, project management, analysis and recommendations on issues and perform highly responsible management work covering a broad range of activities.

This position is full-time, Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. 

We offer on-the-job training. The hours of the training will be aligned with your schedule.  

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the development of tools to track organizational objectives and short and long range project or program goals
  • Independently manages a project and maintains a performance management process which includes: performance planning and results for assigned project and programs; advising, supporting and ensuring performance requirements, goals, measures, and assessment activities are established, met, tracked, and reported
  • Prepares draft agendas for meetings for review with executive. Prepares appropriate backup materials and arranges for presence of appropriate directors and vice presidents. Participates in meetings, takes minutes and provides advice and follow-up correspondence
  • Prepares reports, presentations, verbal/written correspondences, policies, communications, procedures and other required documentation on behalf of the executive
  • Performs moderately complex business analysis and conducts research, analyzes/interprets information on issues, proposals and problems to ensure that adequate data is provided to executive for decision-making and informational purposes
  • Prepares budgets, conducts expense analysis, and communicates with executive staff on matters pertaining to budget and resources
  • Takes projects from concept through full implementation and control
  • Analyzes processes and presents findings to functional leads to develop or improve processes, products, services and/or programs to support the overarching goals of the enterprise
  • Conducts focus groups, process observation, and time and motion studies as necessary
  • Works closely with IT and business partners to identify and maximize opportunities to use information and technology to improve product, service and/or business processes
  • Able to serve as a liaison between business and IT to document business and / or technical requirements
  • May act as a resource for others
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED or equivalent years of work experience
  • Must be 18 years of age OR older
  • 3+ years of experience in progressive responsibility with successful professional assistance, project management or process improvement initiatives
  • Experience in mobilizing teams and maintaining motivation to accomplish goals under stringent timelines
  • Ability to solve moderately complex problems independently
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, organize and complete complex work efforts to meet established objectives
  • Ability to successfully develop a project plan or action plans and execute the plan through implementation
  • Ability to collaborate and coordinate work with other team members
  • Ability to interact one-on-one and consult with all levels of executive management
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications to include Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Share Point

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Management experience
  • Willing to travel for work-related purposes as deemed necessary
  • Experience with process mapping methodology and creating process maps
  • Health plan, healthcare or clinic operations experience
  • HEDIS/Stars experience

  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $23.89 - $42.69 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
