The business summer internship is targeted at students working towards their graduate degree in a business or science or related discipline. Other degrees will be considered when accompanied by an aptitude or interest in business practices.

The role of the business intern will be to sit within one of our business teams and learn and participate in the analysis, evaluation and implementation of business decisions.

To that end, the candidate may have experience in any of the following:

  • Analytical and information gathering skills
  • Ability to evaluate and prioritize extensive detailed data
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, conveying complex or technical information in a manner that others can understand
  • Ability to understand and interpret complex information
  • Experience successfully managing multiple requests, assessing priorities and achieving solutions under deadlines

The candidate will be expected to have a basic, structured and standard approach to work. Be capable of performing routine or structured work and be able to respond to routine or standard requests. They will be expected to depend on fellow team members for instruction, guidance or direction. In return they will gain experience of business processes in a complex environment, how to prepare and present complex information in a fashion that is understandable and actionable. They will experience the value of working as a team member and gain insights into team dynamics.

You will be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role, as well as providing development for other roles you may be interested in.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Currently working towards a graduate degree in business or science related disciplines 
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated ability to collect, measure, organize, and analyze data

Soft Skills:

  • Proven ability to learn new technologies quickly
  • Proven ability to be professional, service oriented, proactive, and flexible
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and team skills
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to clearly explain complex or technical information
