The Clinical Consultant Senior Director serves as the primary liaison between Emisar clinical operations, professional practice, clinical products and the Clinical Consultant's assigned GPO Member base. The role provides clinical support for Emisar GPO Member account management, operations, information technology, and other internal departments.
The Clinical Consultant establishes GPO Member relationships and serves as primary point of contact for overall and day-to-day service delivery for clinical pharmacy needs. This individual is relied upon to provide proactive clinical recommendations, information regarding pharmacy trends, clinical programs and products, and industry changes to GPO Members, thereby fostering consultative relationships. This individual also represents GPO Members internally and coordinates with other functional areas to implement GPO Member initiatives, complete projects, and address ongoing pharmacy service needs.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide superior clinical consultation and clinical account management with a focus on GPO Member satisfaction, GPO Member retention, and trend management
- Collaborate with GPO Members to establish achievable but aggressive clinical program goals, including generic dispensing rate improvements, implementation of utilization management programs, improvement in medication adherence rates, and improvements in therapy gaps for key chronic disease states
- Communicate drug information to GPO Members and respond to plan-specific clinical inquiries
- Stay aware of and provide clinical market intelligence to GPO Members
- Identify opportunities for clinical program up-sell and spearhead up-sell to assigned GPO Member(s)
- Incorporate treatment and practice guidelines into GPO Member presentations including up-selling opportunities
- Comprehend and effectively explain formulary and clinical program changes to GPO Members
- Effectively manage GPO Member objections to new programs and proposed changes
- Identify and create opportunities to manage trend and add Emisar products
- Formulate GPO Member recommendations based on available data and trend
- Deliver clinically sound and fiscally responsible recommendations to GPO Members based on their trend
- Routinely collaborate with Emisar account management to provide clinical aspects of GPO Member quarterly reviews
- Analyze & interpret benefit designs
- Collaborate in development of strategy as outward facing, dedicated or designated resource for assigned accounts, typically with direct GPO Member contact
- Bring innovative ideas that can be scaled across the organization
- Work in a collaborative manner with the Consultant(s) of assigned GPO Member(s) while maintaining focus on UHG/Emisar strategies and goals
- Clearly communicate analytical and reporting needs to supporting departments
- Help GPO Members be competitive within their market
- Identify opportunities to increase efficiency

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree
- Proven experience in pharmacy practice or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to show solid initiative
- Demonstrated high achievement drive
- Demonstrated problem solving skills
- Proven track record of building solid relationships
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven experience in managed care or PBM environments
- Proven experience in client facing roles or clinical account management
- Demonstrated solid clinical and analytical background
- Demonstrated solid presentation skills and experience
- Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple clients simultaneously
