As a Manager Business Process, you'll have the opportunity to identify and manage a portfolio of projects to support Coordination of Benefit initiatives including the delivery of processes and improvement initiatives. You will partner with stakeholders to understand and document business requirements and utilizing your sharp analytical skills to fulfill the needs of the business and/or clients, you will have an impact on healing the health care system. This is a challenging role that creates an opportunity to grow and develop.

Primary Responsibilities:
- This position will be responsible for leading and driving initiatives for Optum Coordination of Benefits (COB), collaborating with partner teams to increase Optum COB Medical cost savings and deliver process improvement and efficiencies
- The scope of these activities is across all main lines of business (E&I, M&R and C&S) working with other value streams as part of an overall business alignment and improvement programme
- Evaluate gaps in business processes through process/data analysis, identify opportunities for automation, payment policies, quality, and throughput improvements to increase the opportunity or medical cost savings
- Conduct all needed research, problem solving and requirements-gathering activities with business and technical stakeholders to identify, collect and document specific business requirements (i.e., business, functional and non-functional) for analytics or automation projects
- Manage cross-segment projects and initiatives that require problem solving, relationship building, influencing, and analyzing
- Develop and/or contribute to training programs to support implementation of the solution
- Establish and perform testing scenarios and provide direction to developers to ensure requirements are adhered to
- Collaborate with business matrix partners to deliver value to our clients by ensuring key operational, financial and growth targets are achieved

Required Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience in healthcare or financial services
- Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, PMI, Agile, Six Sigma) or equivalent
- Proven extensive experience leading projects or driving initiatives through to completion
- Demonstrated solid experience defining business requirements, problem solving, including root cause identification, and recommending and implementing solutions
- Demonstrated experience in analyzing and mapping business processes, including the ability to translate business requirements and business acumen to a technical audience
- Demonstrated intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and SQL
- Proven experience analyzing large operational and/or financial datasets to identify and define actionable insights
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated knowledge of claims processes, (i.e. processing, reviewing, auditing, billing etc.)
- Proven experience working in operations areas such as Claims, Coordination of Benefits (COB), Data Mining, or Appeals and Grievances
- Proven experience leading and managing project implementation supporting global operations teams and associated considerations (system and business access, approvals, legal and data protection regulations and restrictions etc.), as well as training and process documentation
Soft Skills:
- Demonstrated solid presentation and professional communication skills (verbal and written), including stakeholder management
- Demonstrated ability to achieve results through others and support the development of others
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment to deliver quality results
