The Data Analyst Clinical Practice Consultant (CPC) Manager is an integral part of the UHC Community Plan of NJ. This full-time NJ designated position will report to the Quality Director and work in collaboration with other health plan teams and leaders. This position will be accountable to mitigate financial risk, prevent regulatory sanctions, optimize operational spend, and protect quality-driven revenue. The  Data Analyst CPC Manager will be responsible for issue identification, targeted remediation and data driven corrective action and will utilize the CPC team in interventions that solution for identified issues. The role requires continuous monitoring to ensure sustained improvements and prevent recurrence of the same findings across measurement years.  The data Analyst CPC manager will investigate the "why" behind performance gaps and formulates a corrective action plan that results in a permanent correction of the root cause.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Sanction reduction and penalty avoidance through early issue identification, targeted remediation and data driven corrective actions
  • Optomize use of CPC staff  in rate improvement strategies by targeting chart chases that distinguish between compliant and non-compliant records; this approach maximizes return on existing resources rather than increasing overall spend
  • Ensure sustained improvement on NJ specific measures that result in reduced sanction exposure and supports stable quality performance in a penalty driven environment
  • Develop solutions to permanently correct issues identified by root cause analysis
  • Assist in the development of timely responses to Regulatory inquiries that incorporate data analysis
  • Identify data integrity failures and distinguish from actual care deficiencies
  • Provide ongoing support to proactively transition HEDIS measures to "E" measure status by 2029


Skills and Abilities:

  • Self-directed, independent and record of problem solving, initiation and management of complex, visible and multifaceted topics
  • Demonstrated ability managing across organizational silos when presented with complex and undefined work
  • Ensure operational readiness through initiative oversight and continual monitoring for process improvement opportunities of population health strategies
  • Possess solid listening skills, demonstrated by high level of responsiveness, and follow through
  • Comfortable working through ambiguity toward clarity around data specifications and sources
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze metrics, summarize key business learning, and translate into tactical plans and report to leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to make recommendations and implement quality improvement interventions based on results of projects. Converts data into useable information and measures the impact of improvement initiative
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely at all levels
  • Demonstrated understanding of quality theory, data collection, analysis, and study design; ability to track and display data; ability to design, implement and evaluate interventions required

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of professional work experience, manipulation of structured date and building business intelligence tools and reports
  • 5+ years of experience interfacing with leadership teams
  • Experience in actively applying or overseeing the application of science-based quality improvement methods to improve quality scores
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and projects
  • Intermediate to advanced level of Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Proven excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills and ability to balance multiple priorities and manage multiple projects/tasks in tandem
  • Proven solid problem solving and analytical and skills
  • Proven excellent communication skills - verbal, interpersonal, presentation, and facilitation along with written message development


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Medicaid/Managed Medicaid experience  
  • Experience working in a matrix environment
  • Experience working with and influencing all levels of employees; inspiring others to engage, participate and act
  • Proven record of effectively managing conflict, resolving issues, mitigating risks, inspiring, and influencing others

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $91,700 to $163,700 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
