Role purpose

The Analytics Business Manager (ABM) role is part of Optum's Analytics Center of Excellence (ACOE). The ACOE provides high-quality deliverables and data-driven decision making through a highly scalable and innovative operating model that enables resource specialization and expands our partners' access to analytics talent, best practices, standard processes and technology. This model helps advance the strategic objectives of our partners which are both external health systems and internal operations.

The ABM serves as a strategic and operational partner to ACOE leaders and Analytics Client Delivery Leads (CDLs). The role translates partner and organizational priorities into coordinated action, reliable governance, and measurable outcomes by providing the structure, information, and follow-through leaders need to make decisions and deliver results.

The ABM partners with CDLs, ACOE leaders, delivery teams, and other stakeholders to create clarity, alignment, and accountability across complex initiatives. The role is accountable for ensuring leaders have decision-ready information, governance and operating practices support consistent execution, business performance is visible, and organizational priorities translate into measurable outcomes and sustained value.

The ABM uses business judgment, influence, operational leadership, and executive communication to navigate ambiguity and independently advance work from planning through implementation and adoption. Based on organizational needs, the ABM may support a combination of health system partnership and ACOE-wide leaders and operations. These assignments require solid relationships, enterprise knowledge, and disciplined execution.
