The Associate Systems Management Analyst supports the organization's enterprise Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) built on Omnissa (VMware) Horizon. This junior level systems engineering role is responsible for assisting in the deployment, administration, and day to day management of VDI desktop pools, published applications, images, user profiles, and supporting components.
The role focuses on maintaining the stability, availability, and performance of user facing VDI services while adhering to established operational standards, documentation practices, and service level expectations. Especially maintaining a required 99.95% annual uptime SLA. The Associate Systems Management Analyst works closely with senior engineers, provisioning teams, and cross functional partners to ensure reliable access to virtual desktop resources across supported organizations.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist in the deployment, configuration, and ongoing management of Horizon VDI desktop pools, images, and virtual machines
- Support application delivery through Horizon Published Applications and VDI Natively Installed Applications, including routine application package updates
- Help manage user persistence and profile solutions using technologies such as FSLogix and Dynamic Environment Manager (DEM)
- Create, maintain, and update technical documentation, diagrams, and knowledge articles related to the VDI environment, serving as a contributor within Confluence
- Support identity and access management tasks by coordinating with provisioning teams to ensure appropriate user and group access
- Assist with the creation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Instant Clone desktop environments
- Participate in defining and supporting printing solutions within the VDI platform
- Troubleshoot user‑facing issues related to virtual desktops, applications, profiles, and session performance in a production enterprise environment
- Follow established ITSM processes for incident, change, and problem management while escalating issues appropriately

Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of Junior-level System Administration & Engineering with Hands on experience administering Windows Server (2022 or newer) and Windows desktop operating systems (including Windows 11) in an enterprise setting
- Proven experience supporting enterprise Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) platforms, including VMware / Omnissa Horizon, with hands on administration of VDI Agents, Clients, Desktop Pools, and Remote Desktop Session Host (RDSH) environments.
- Experience supporting application delivery and user environment management technologies in VDI environments (e.g. FSLogix, Dynamic Environment Manager & Application delivery platforms)
- Working experience with Active Directory and enterprise identity services, including Managing Security Groups, User Accounts & Group Policy Objects (GPOs)
- Experience working within formal IT Service Management (ITSM) processes, including incident, change, and problem management
- Solid troubleshooting skills across User based Operating systems such as Windows Desktops, Terminal or Remote Desktop Session Hosts and User Applications in an Enterprise production environment
- Ability to work well with minimal supervision and in a Team setting as well as collaborating with Engineers across other Teams
- United States citizenship is required for this position
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a suitability or determination of eligibility for a Confidential/Secret or Top Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Management Information Systems or related field, or equivalent work experience
- Experience with ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms
- DOD/VA/Military experience
- DOD/VA/Military Clearances
- Working knowledge of PowerShell for basic scripting, routine automation and reporting
- Working knowledge of networking fundamentals relevant to VDI environments
- Solid Written & Verbal Communication skills

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $28.94 to $51.63 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
