The Business Analyst Consultant is responsible for creating and refining business and systems requirements to address business opportunities and formulating documentation to support the development and implementation of the technical solution. This position plays a major role in the development and implementation of core business systems. In addition, the Business Analyst Consultant serves as the liaison between business users and technology programmers to understand user needs and develop required reporting and data analysis and may serve as a project coordinator to support communication of product delivery work efforts.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Analyzes business needs, documents requirements and translates needs into functional, nonfunctional and/or technical specifications
- Solutions and documents database architectures, ETL and integration strategies at the modeling, design and implementation stages to address business or industry requirements
- Delivers requirements, performs analysis, and evaluates downstream business, systems, process, and/or organizational impacts
- Plans and assists with oversight of testing processes and activities including defect identification and resolution
- Analyzes charts and/or diagrams of the problem to be programmed and defines system requirements in terms of system capabilities
- Develops or assists in the development of work plans, time schedules, and project task items and schedules and assists with estimating resource needs for analysts, programmers, user personnel, consultants, equipment, and prepares routine project status reports
- Assists in the development of project estimates to establish project timelines including the development of alternative considerations. This will result in recommendations for the development of new solutions, systems or equipment, or to change existing solutions, systems and equipment
- Advises the appropriate people on the implications of existing IT systems that can be applied to a problem. Identifies risks and issues and seeks approval on complex matters
- Checks, validates and verifies assigned work directed performed by technical staff to achieve desired end-results for customer
- Performs all other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
- Systems Analysis: 2+ years of experience eliciting and documenting comprehensive Business and Functional Requirements
- Technical Implementation: 2+ years of hands-on experience within IT project life cycles or system implementations
- Database Literacy: Solid SQL skills for querying databases, analyzing results, and presenting findings. 2+ years of hands-on experience using Snowflake, Microsoft SQL, Oracle SQL Developer or similar relational database tool
- Methodology Experience: Practical experience working within the SDLC, Agile frameworks, and standard project control methodologies
- Industry Expertise: Solid understanding of healthcare or insurance sectors, including core business functions and data structures.
- Quality Assurance: Advanced proficiency in developing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) frameworks and detailed test cases
- Manage Competing Priorities: Proven ability to manage and advance multiple workstreams simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Analytical Precision: Proven exceptional problem-solving skills with a rigorous commitment to data accuracy and detail.
- Ownership: Proven self-motivated professional who takes full accountability for project lifecycles from inception to successful delivery
- Process Mapping: Proven ability to visualize and document complex workflows and data flows using Visio or equivalent diagramming tools
- Bridge Communication: Proven skilled at translating complex ideas into clear solutions for both technical developers and business stakeholders
- Status Reporting: Proven diligent in providing transparent, timely, and accurate progress updates on all assigned deliverables
- Relationship Management: Proven adept at fostering collaborative partnerships with both internal teams and external clients
Preferred Qualifications:
- Database Literacy: 4+ years of hands-on experience using Snowflake, Microsoft SQL, or Oracle SQL Developer, similar relational database tool, or equivalent SQL certification
- Analytical Experience: 2+ years of professional experience in data reporting and business analytics
- Visual Analytics Fluency: 1+ years of experience supporting or solutioning dashboards in Tableau or Power BI
- Domain Expertise: Specialized knowledge of healthcare quality metrics, including HEDIS, STARs, Medication Adherence, or CAHPS & HOS reporting.
- ETL Exposure: Foundational proficiency with data extract, transform and load tools such as Alteryx, PDI, SSIS, or similar ETL software.
- Data Management Proficiency: Completed coursework or professional training in database architecture, data management, or data governance principles

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $72,800 to $130,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
