This role is a rare opportunity to lead technology at national scale in healthcare delivery. As the senior technology executive for Optum Care at Home, you will own the platforms that power $22B+ in annual revenue and enable clinically critical care for millions of members. These platforms sit at the center in home clinical delivery, and digital engagement, where technology directly impacts outcomes. You will step into a role with clear ownership, solid executive sponsorship, and an active transformation already underway. You will be responsible for simplifying complex systems, scaling AI into real workflows, and modernizing platforms while the business continues to grow.
This role leads a global, multi-layer engineering organization accountable for:
- Scaling platforms to meet continued growth
- Modernizing and consolidating fragmented systems
- Embedding AI into day-to-day clinician and operational workflows - all while systems remain live, compliant, and highly resilient

For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Enterprise Technology Leadership - Serve as the single accountable executive across Senior Community Care and Care at Home; own end to end technology strategy, execution, and outcomes aligned to sustained growth
- Workforce & Globalization Transformation - Drive workforce and operating model transformation toward a sustainable onshore/offshore delivery mix (target 40% onshore / 60% offshore), balancing cost efficiency with quality, regulatory compliance, and care delivery requirements
- Governance, Accountability & Execution Discipline - Enforce standards and decision rights; lead cloud adoption with accountability for cost, performance, and reliability; provide transparent, executive level reporting on platform health, value, and transformation progress
- Growth Strategy - Lead technology-enabled growth across Optum Care at Home, including UnitedHealthcare and external client expansion, ensuring platforms scale to support new markets and revenue streams
- Regulatory Oversight - Ensure all platforms meet HIPAA, PHI, and healthcare regulatory requirements; own compliance accountability while enabling rapid innovation and clinical enablement
- AI-Native Care Delivery - Embed AI across care delivery to drive measurable clinical, operational, and financial outcomes
- Modernize and unify the technology ecosystem to enable scalable, efficient, and connected care delivery

Required Qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience in technology leadership roles, including involvement in architecture and/or data engineering
- Significant experience working on Care Delivery Platforms or large-scale EHR consolidation efforts
- 10+ years of experience leading and managing large, complex technology organizations, including strategic planning and budget management
- 5+ years of experience with cloud-native Cloud architectures and ecosystems (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Proven track record of driving large-scale digital transformations and implementing enterprise-level data integration solutions
- Demonstrated experience in leading organizational change and successfully adopting emerging technologies at scale
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related technical field
- Experience building and scaling the data foundations required for generative AI, large language models (LLMs), or advanced predictive modeling
- Deep expertise in modern practices, including SRE, DataOps, MLOps, and automated data quality frameworks
- Proven executive presence with the ability to influence C-suite stakeholders and align technology strategy with broad business objectives

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $200,400 to $343,500 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
