Optum Health Marketing Analytics is currently seeking a Data Analyst. This position will be focused on the Optum Care Delivery business segment.   This position is an individual contributor and successful candidates will have demonstrated advanced analytical skills including the ability to translate the analytical findings into concrete business recommendations to drive our growth agenda. The ideal candidate will thrive in an environment with a high degree of individual responsibility. This person will have analytical mindset and yet will be adept at translating highly technical information to non-technical audiences. This position requires experience working with marketing analytics reporting including implementation, mining and interpreting data to help improve marketing outcomes and prove marketing campaign ROI.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Run discovery sessions to identify and capture business requirements and functions to include within reporting delivery solutions
  • Gather, document and analyze business requirements to drive data analysis, interpretation, application across multiple touchpoints and media channels
  • Perform data mining to identify relevant trends/issues in the data (e.g., campaign effectiveness, consumer segmentation)
  • Perform appropriate analyses to drive understanding of business performance and other applicable issues
  • Ability to identify new and existing data elements and sources to meet current and emerging business needs
  • Fully understand the complexities of the data, ask the right questions to achieve optimal results/outcomes, able to work more efficiently and effectively with the data owners
  • Partner with Advanced Analytics to build new predictive models and manage/support existing models, as needed
  • Manage big data pulls of varying size and complexity, to support marketing campaigns
  • Partner with the marketing team to ensure that campaigns tracking are properly set-up for all on-line and off-line channels
  • Monitor operational processes, daily metrics to identify issues or red-flags early, and then work with appropriate groups to remedy the situation
  • Solid communication and ability to communicate well to both technical and business audiences

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of applied data analysis experience, including ability to frame findings into coherent stories that resonate with non technical stakeholders
  • Proficiency with data mining tools (Excel, SQL)
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate analysis trends and opportunities to clients and the business
  • Proven results driven mindset in a constantly changing environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated creative problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and act tactically 
  • Ability to identify and handle issues proactively and decisively with limited direction and oversight while also communicating consistently to executive leadership 
  • Proven solid verbal, written, interpersonal communication skills and attention to detail 
  • Proven solid analytical skills and experience working across different technologies/tools 
  • Proven solid creative, organizational, problem solving and time-management skills 

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $72,800 to $130,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
