The Director of Finance within Optum Infusion, part of OptumRx pharmacies, will serve as the finance leader for the Ambulatory Infusion Center (AIC) line of business. This is a recently acquired, high-growth business with significant opportunity to improve visibility, performance, and scalability. As an individual contributor, this role will build the foundational reporting, analysis, and performance metrics needed to guide decision-making, support disciplined P&L management, and enable profitable growth. This leader will partner strategically with business and executive leadership to improve financial performance, evaluate growth opportunities, and support geographic expansion.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Establish the foundational financial reporting, dashboards, and performance metrics for the AIC line of business, creating visibility into business trends and delivering actionable insights to operations and executive leadership
- Serve as the primary finance partner to AIC business leaders, leading performance discussions with executives, translating results into clear implications, and influencing actions that improve financial and operating outcomes
- Develop and own month-end and in-month reporting that provides insight into financial performance at the consolidated, regional, and individual site level, including key drivers of volume, revenue, margin, and operational efficiency
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning activities for the AIC business in partnership with enterprise and functional finance teams, ensuring assumptions are well supported and aligned to business strategy
- Partner strategically with business leadership to evaluate growth opportunities, geographic expansion, and operational investments, providing financial rigor and decision support to help scale the business profitably
- Support strategic initiatives, including M&A evaluation and diligence activity as needed, by assessing financial opportunities, risks, and integration considerations
- Anticipate risks and emerging business issues, assess financial and operational implications, and develop actionable plans to address challenges and support sustainable growth
- Proactively identify financial and operational performance issues across regions and sites, perform root-cause analysis, and partner with leaders to implement solutions that drive improved results

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with a focus in Finance, Accounting or equivalent
- 7+ years of progressive finance experience demonstrating the ability to drive financial performance, lead complex analysis, and support growth-oriented business initiatives
- 5+ years partnering directly with senior business leaders (Finance, Operations, Sales, Payer, etc.) to evaluate business performance, influence decisions, and communicate complex financial concepts clearly and concisely in both written and verbal formats
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with experience in financial modeling, scenario analysis, dashboard development, and translating large data sets into actionable business insights
- Experience creating clear, executive-level presentations that synthesize financial results, highlight business implications, and support decision-making
- Demonstrated solid executive presence, interpersonal skills, and communication ability, with demonstrated success influencing leaders and building credibility across functions
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, workstreams, and stakeholders simultaneously while operating independently in a highly visible role
- Experience building or improving reporting, processes, and performance management tools in environments with limited existing structure, reporting, or analytics
- Demonstrated high degree of self-direction, ownership, and comfort operating autonomously in an ambiguous and evolving business environment
- Proven strategic, curious, and solutions-oriented mindset with a passion for partnering across functions to solve problems and drive business growth
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree
- CPA license (active or inactive)
- Experience serving as a trusted finance partner in a highly matrixed organization, with solid relationship-building and communication skills
- Experience with business intelligence and planning tools such as Power BI, Oracle PeopleSoft, Hyperion Essbase, or similar platforms used to support financial reporting and performance analysis
- Experience supporting high-growth, newly acquired, or evolving businesses where financial reporting, metrics, and performance management capabilities needed to be built or significantly enhanced
- Demonstrated ability to work in a matrixed organization and with cross-functional partners

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $134,600 to $230,800 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
