Optum's EHR Services represents one of the fastest growing practices within Optum Insight's Advisory and Implementations business unit. The EHR Services practice is comprised of 600+ individuals across the U.S. and Ireland who are dedicated to improving the healthcare delivery system through the power of healthcare technology, specifically, the EHR and integrated applications and tools. By joining the EHR Services team, you'll partner with some of the most gifted healthcare technology thought leaders within the industry, collaborate with experienced consulting and healthcare leaders, and help partners capture the benefits of their EHR investment.
Optum seeks a Clinical Manager with hands-on experience in EHR Services implementation and operation projects. They will manage teams of integration, train best practices, and align with EHR Services to ensure successful project execution.

For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Supervise Epic application design, development, and maintenance activities of applications under direct purview
- Collaborate with end users to design Epic Clinical Ambulatory workflows by suggesting corrective adjustments or enhancements
- Determine staffing requirements, perform capacity planning for resources and supervise the work of direct reports to ensure that team is functioning effectively and efficiently
- Serve as a mentor, resource, and primary advisor for all direct reports
- Provides technical/clinical workflow guidance including application configuration. Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates systems needs to develop recommendations for customers
- Lead all phases (design, build, testing) of medium to large scale Epic projects, including software upgrades, implementation of new modules and significant optimization initiatives
- Provide support for application incidents reported through the help desk; including 24/7 on call coverage as required
- Manage in-depth analysis of workflows, data collection, report details, and other technical issues associated with Epic software
- Work with department representatives to analyze needs and translate these into system design
- Assist team to translate business requirements into functional specifications and manages changes to specifications; prioritize, coordinate, and implement updates and requested changes to the system; reviews and tests each new release; troubleshoots problems and questions from end users
- Manage and develop solid relationships with end user communities, customers and business partners
- Facilitate communication with stakeholders from initial requirements to final implementation

Required Qualifications:
- Completed Epic Ambulatory certification plus one additional module certification (MyChart, Care Everywhere, Healthy Planet, or Orders), demonstrating system configuration and workflow support expertise
- Completed Epic CEE (Continued Epic Education) to maintain certifications, proficiencies, and badges
- 7+ years combined experience across HealthCare and/or IT domains
- 5+ years working with Epic configuration
- 4+ years of experience configuring and supporting provider, nursing and ancillary workflows including clinical notes, orders, order sets, procedure workflows, case/log configuration, medication administration record, flowsheets, protocols, patient monitoring, imaging workflows, lab workflows, and discharge workflows
- 2+ years of management/leadership experience
- Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and/or Visio
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Service Management, Project Management, or Business Analysis
- Ambulatory experience and certifications are preferred in addition to the certifications listed above
- Run Epic implementation installs, and familiar with running workgroups and Orion

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $112,700 - $193,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
