The Cogito Administrator is a remote Analyst-level role, responsible for the configuration, monitoring, support and administration of the Epic Systems application/data infrastructure. The Cogito (Reporting) Administrator will help to maintain an optimized database infrastructure to support numerous client reporting and data needs. High level tasks include creating and maintaining the reporting and data warehouse databases, and installing, maintaining, and supporting the nightly Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes into the reporting and data warehouse databases.

The Cogito Administrator must be a self-motivated individual with exceptional communication, presentation and interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in team environments.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Configure and maintain the reporting databases according to environment strategies
- Engage in capacity planning exercises to ensure adequate system resources like RAM, CPU, and storage
- Monitor database size, health, and performance
- Create and manage plans for maintaining statistics and indexes
- Manage logins for different types of database access
- Apply updates to production and non-production environments
- Perform database backups and verify restores to ensure business continuity
- Follow vendor and Epic best practices for hardware and software configuration
- Verify Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes are completed daily and are error-free
- Add new tables, columns, indexes, etc.. to database tables and objects
- Work with Business Intelligence Developers to provide report data
- Respond to emergency after-hours issues
- Collaborate with technical teams and Epic support

Required Qualifications:
- Certification in EPIC Clarity & Caboodle Administration
- 4+ years of experience with Epic ETL workflows, Caboodle data warehousing practices, databases, SQL syntax, claims, metadata; SSIS design & development; database availability and disaster recovery
- 4+ years of experience with the implementation of strategies to improve clarity and caboodle ETL load
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with running Epic environments in Azure
- Clear understanding and experience in Microsoft SQL Server environments
- Understanding of the Extract, Transform, and Load process
- US based to support the US market hours
Key Competencies:
- Ability to perform basic troubleshooting on Microsoft SQL Server databases/servers
- Required to complete and maintain an Epic Cogito Administration certification
- Installs, upgrades, maintains and supports Epic reporting databases (Clarity, Caboodle, SlicerDicer etc.) server platforms
- Apply Epic database updates to all installed databases
- Works with other teams to apply and validate updates to databases and ETL infrastructure
- Monitors and optimizes the performance of Epic nightly ETL processes and Epic database updates
- Defines and implements security, audit, and resource allocation policies and procedures. Defines, creates, and manages service user accounts, profiles, privileges, roles, and required audit information
- Communicate and coordinate with other teams (UNIX, MS SQL, Windows, Network, SAN etc.) related to database, application and environment support and projects

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $72,800 to $130,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
