Optum Financial is seeking an Executive Assistant with exceptional communication, proactive planning, and advanced organizational skills to report to the COO, SVP of Customer Success for the Employer & HBA business, while also providing direct support to the Employer GM and senior leadership team.
This role operates at the center of the Employer/HBA organization and requires a highly proactive, resourceful individual who can anticipate leadership needs, drive operating rhythm, and ensure alignment across key priorities. The Executive Assistant will play a critical role in enabling effective decision-making, ensuring deliverables are prepared and tracked, and supporting a high-performing leadership team in a fast-paced, client-driven environment.
This position requires strong relationship management, communication, and the ability to collaborate closely with other executive assistants, senior leaders, and cross-functional partners across the organization.
This position is full-time, Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.
This will be on the job training and the hours of training will during normal business hours.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage complex executive calendars and meeting cadence, prioritizing critical client, operational, work time and strategic engagements across the Employer/HBA leadership team
- Act as a centralized workflow manager, ensuring readiness for key meetings inclusive of deliverables, pre-reads, and action items are proactively tracked and completed on time
- Coordinate executive communications and briefing materials, ensuring leaders are prepared for internal and external meetings and decision forums
- Partner closely with executive assistants across Optum Financial and UHG, ensuring seamless coordination across senior leadership teams
- Plan and execute leadership meetings and offsites, including agenda development, logistics, materials, and follow-up actions aligned to Employer/HBA priorities
- Monitor executive communications, triage priorities, and escalate urgent client, operational, or business issues appropriately
- Handle confidential and sensitive business information with a high level of discretion and professionalism
- Coordinate travel and related logistics for leadership, ensuring efficient planning aligned to business priorities
- Contribute to key business initiatives and ad hoc priorities, particularly those tied to service excellence, client experience, and operational execution
- Provide flexible support across the Employer/HBA leadership team as needed, adapting to evolving priorities

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma / GED
- Must be 18 years of age OR older
- 4+ years of experience supporting C-suite or senior executives, including managing calendars, meetings, travel, and sensitive information
- Experience coordinating multiple complex priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams)
- Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and leadership levels
- Ability to operate as a proactive business partner, not just an administrative support role

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $34 - $60 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
