No industry is moving faster than health care. Optum Insight Analytics is an innovative organization that is uniquely positioned to lead health care forward. Our team excels at providing analytic services that drive results across data trends that are both standard and emerging. We are seeking a service-oriented Manager of Analytics Services to provide implementation and operational support in the healthcare value-based analytics domain, while also helping the team apply AI and automation to work smarter and faster.

The ideal candidate will excel at identifying data trends and insights and translating this information into analytic deliverables - including trend insights, dashboards, and presentations - that convey complex data in a manner that is easy to understand. The candidate should also excel at data analysis, communication, and collaboration, with the ability to share industry best practices for value-based programs and trends, and should be comfortable using AI-enabled tools to increase team efficiency and delivery speed.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Primary Responsibilities:  

  • Lead analytics service delivery within the Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial domains by working closely with clients to understand key performance indicators associated with defined value-based payment programs and associated data models
  • Lead the team's adoption of best practices for data analytic techniques, including automated and AI-enabled solutions for data governance and data management
  • Identify and deliver business insights via reporting and AI-related solutions for current operational results
  • Design and implement data analytic models that enable prediction of emerging trends
  • Design and support development of innovative solutions, including AI and automation-enabled approaches, to provide actionable insights for clients
  • Translate complex data concepts into models that can be understood by a variety of audiences
  • Partner with other Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to complete complex analysis across broad data sets and define/execute an effective strategy to identify and analyze data trends
  • Apply AI-enabled tools (e.g., generative AI assistants, automation, and machine-learning-based reporting) within day-to-day workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort
  • Partner with the AI Innovation/Predictive Analytics team to identify opportunities to embed AI and automation into existing reporting, dashboarding, and data management processes
  • Partner with a team of analysts/developers who are collectively responsible for:
  • Developing technical solutions to transform business data models and products in support of customer reporting development efforts
  • Developing analytic data models and data sets that drive business insights
  • Developing ad hoc reports based on trend forecasting, BI-driven metrics, aggregations, and hierarchies
  • Delivering data-driven insights to support actionable strategic direction, prioritization, and communication

Required Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years of professional experience in data science, computer science, statistics, artificial intelligence, analytics, health economics, health administration, and/or another related quantitative or healthcare discipline, with demonstrated ability to apply quantitative methods to complex business problems 
  • 5+ years of experience delivering Data Analytics/Business Intelligence (BI), data visualization, and reporting solutions using analytical tools in a consulting or business environment (Python, SQL, or R)
  • 3+ years of experience leveraging healthcare data models across multiple data types (member, claim, provider)
  • 3+ years of experience working with medical claims and enrollment data in a large data warehouse environment, with a proven ability to analyze large data sets to complete analysis and generation of data-related trend reports that support complex healthcare-related initiatives
  • 3+ years of experience identifying and aligning data into a common structure to create analytic models
  • 3+ years of experience translating complex analytic results into meaningful insight, and conveying complex or technical information to external stakeholders and clients
  • 3+ years of experience working in Snowflake or Databricks environments
  • 1+ years of experience using AI-enabled or automation tools (e.g., generative AI assistants, low-code/no-code automation, or machine-learning-based reporting tools) to improve analytic efficiency or delivery speed

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • 2+ years of experience implementing or evaluating value-based payment programs across a variety of lines of business (Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial)
  • 2+ years of experience or demonstrated credibility interacting with senior-level executives, including Health Plan stakeholders
  • 1+ years of experience in developing and implementing effective/strategic solutions through research and analysis of data and business processes
  • 1+ years of experience with Agile Methodology and Delivery
  • 1+ years of experience with generative AI tools (e.g., Copilot or similar assistants) and predictive analytics concepts, with a demonstrated interest in applying AI to improve team efficiency

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $112,700 - $193,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
