The Optum Oracle Health EHR Services team is building an innovative, comprehensive EHR services capability using the collective expertise of our clinical, consulting, delivery, technology, and operations teams. Our Center of Excellence is bringing together some of the greatest minds in the industry to further our mission of making the health system work better for everyone. The Optum EHR Services Millennium Laboratory Analyst will support client partnerships to grow our emerging support service line. As a Millennium Laboratory Analyst, you will serve as a liaison between end-users, project team members, and other resources while providing exemplary customer service and application support in their assigned solutions. In addition, you will manage logged incidents and support Imaging projects to ensure end users have the best possible experience. EHR Services team members will help position Optum as a center of excellence for application management services.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Triage, investigate, and resolve incidents reported by laboratory end users related to order management, specimen workflows, result entry, result verification, and results distribution
- Monitor and maintain laboratory pending logs, result queues, and exception worklists; ensure timely resolution of order errors, failed result transmissions, and workflow interruptions
- Partner with Core and Integration teams on HL7-related issues (eg, ADT, ORM, ORU, DFT) impacting laboratory orders, specimen processing, and results delivery
- Validate laboratory build and configuration across departments and clinical areas; troubleshoot missing, delayed, or incorrect order and result data
- Support routine updates to laboratory dictionaries, orderable/performable mappings, result code definitions, and instrument configuration in coordination with laboratory operations
- Collaborate with registration, scheduling, and clinical teams to ensure accurate patient, encounter, and order data flows into laboratory systems
- Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for laboratory enhancements, interface changes, upgrades, and maintenance releases
- Own and manage Tier 2 laboratory support tickets through resolution, including root cause analysis and clear documentation of fixes and workarounds
- Coordinate escalations with Tier 3 teams, vendors, and instrument partners for complex or system-level issues
- Monitor laboratory system and instrument interface health and performance, proactively identifying potential risks to order routing, result delivery, or specimen tracking
- Maintain and update knowledge base articles and support documentation for recurring laboratory and instrument interface issues
- Support integration points between Millennium and laboratory systems, including analyzers, reference lab interfaces, middleware, and downstream clinical viewers
- Validate and test laboratory build and interface changes in non-production environments prior to deployment
- Assist with change control activities for laboratory and instrument updates, including impact analysis, coordination, and risk mitigation
- Provide support for Oracle Health (Millennium) applications including design, build, testing, and maintenance
- Collaborate with end users to confirm any build changes in the supported systems
- Identify system optimization and enhancement opportunities
- Participate in implementation, upgrade, and enhancement projects
- Provide support for application incidents, including rotations for 24/7 on-call coverage
- Develop and maintain training materials
- Facilitate communication with stakeholders from requirements to implementation
- Build solid relationships with end users and business partners

Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in healthcare domain knowledge, system configuration, and clinical workflow support
- 4+ years of experience with Oracle Health (Millennium) laboratory solutions
- 4+ years of experience in laboratory order/result troubleshooting and end-user support
- Willing to travel up to 25%
Preferred Qualifications:
- Oracle Health Millennium certification in General Laboratory, Microbiology, Blood Bank, Anatomic Pathology, or related clinical applications
- Experience with one or more Oracle Health Millennium laboratory solution areas, including: General Laboratory, Microbiology, Blood Bank / Transfusion Medicine, Anatomic Pathology, Point of Care, or Outreach / Reference Lab
- Experience supporting laboratory instrument interfaces, including analyzer connectivity, middleware integration, result routing, and bidirectional communication
- Experience troubleshooting interface and data flow issues between Millennium, analyzers, middleware, reference labs, and downstream clinical systems
- Experience using ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools for incident, problem, and change management
- Experience supporting specialty-specific documentation and reporting requirements, including CLIA/CAP regulatory considerations, quality control, and proficiency testing workflows
- Experience with general Millennium workflows
- Familiarity with Oracle Health Millennium laboratory workflows, including order management, specimen lifecycle, result entry, verification, and results distribution
- Knowledge of laboratory-related HL7 messaging, including ADT, ORM, ORU, and DFT messages impacting lab orders, specimens, and results
- Familiarity with Millennium security models, role-based access, and laboratory-related permissions
- Ability to interpret Millennium logs, interface error messages, and system diagnostics related to laboratory workflows
- Ability to script, query, or automate repetitive tasks using CCL or other reporting/automation tools
Key Competencies:
- Solid understanding of laboratory processes and their impact on patient care and clinical workflows
- Ability to collaborate across departments, including patient access, revenue cycle, clinical operations, and IT teams
- Experience supporting Millennium upgrades and domain migrations
- Understanding of Oracle Health Laboratory configuration and support across multiple solution areas
- Solid time management, organizational, and prioritization skills
- In-depth knowledge of Millennium EMR and support lifecycle
- Consultative and collaborative style
- Ability to build partnerships and influence across teams

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $72,800 to $130,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
