Our Product & Business Development Program is a full-time early careers opportunity designed for ambitious, curious, and driven individuals who are ready to kickstart their career in a dynamic, fast-paced business environment. This is an early careers opportunity tailored for graduates looking to develop their analytical, commercial, and problem-solving skills across a variety of business areas. 
The early careers team has an exciting development program that focuses on launching careers in Business Analysis, Project Management, Product Management and business operations. These roles are targeting recent graduates who would like to build on their academic business and strategic planning experience to make a significant impact in healthcare. In this program, you will be supported by experienced program leads and managers who will guide you in driving value and efficiency for a large healthcare system.  


This role will require you be in office 4 days a week and reside within a commutable distance of one of the following offices: Eden Prairie, MN, Washington, DC and Boston, MA

The Product & Business Development full-time program will provide:

  • Cohort Program Dates: Tuesday, July 28, 2026
  • 1 year program with final placement in July 2027
  • One-Week Bootcamp designed to meet other individuals launching their career at UnitedHealth Group
  • Mentorship & Cohort buddy  
  • Leadership Roundtables  
  • Access to Live, self-led training and development sessions  
  • Social Responsibility & Community Engagement  
  • Enterprise-Level Programming including a development conference, monthly cross program meet-ups and more
  • Team Alignment:  
    • Associate will receive information regarding the placement process starting in the spring 2026
    • Team assignment & projects will be finalized prior to the start date of the program
  • Core locations: Eden Prairie, MN, Washington, DC and Boston, MA
    • The program reserves the right to assign locations based on office space availability

This one-year early careers development program focuses on being the conduit between technical data teams and our cross-functional business partners. After completion of the Product & Business Development Program you will graduate and launch into an associate role and become a part of our alumni community. Note: Your graduation placement may be in the same team or an opportunity across the wider enterprise.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supporting decision-making through analysis, market research, financial modelling, or performance reporting
  • Preparing and presenting insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders. 
    Working on cross-functional projects that drive business improvement, efficiency, and growth
  • Building relationships across the business to enhance collaboration and stakeholder engagement
  • Participating in structured learning and development sessions to build both technical and soft skills
  • Understanding and documenting new requirements for programs, ensuring they align with organizational goals
  • Process Improvement: Identifying areas for improvement within existing processes and suggesting enhancements
  • Reporting: Generating and analyzing reports to provide insights and support decision-making
  • Change Management: Assisting in managing changes within the organization, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption
  • Documentation of Processes: Creating detailed documentation for processes to ensure clarity and consistency
  • Project management  
  • Assess processes for efficiency and performance; utilize findings to successfully influence change
  • Identify and critique potential solutions to system/business challenges
  • Other projects as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Within final year of completing a Bachelor's degree or have earned it within the past 24 months from an accredited college/university; coursework to obtain degree must be completed prior to start of employment and verified within 6-8 weeks following graduation
  • Internship in project management, product management, business analysis or related field  
  • Relevant healthcare business related experience  
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization (F-1 students with practical training and candidates requiring H-1Bs, TNs, etc. will not be considered)
  • Must be willing to work in one of the following 3 locations: MN, DC or MA for the duration of the program

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Pursuing degree in Business, Project or Product Management, Healthcare Administration, or another business-related field
  • Experience with user design thinking and/or agile methodologies
  • Interest in Healthcare innovation and business development
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with PC based software programs and automated database management systems required (Excel, Access, Visio, PowerPoint)

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $28.27 to $50.48 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
