The Account Manager serves as a primary point of contact between OptumRx and assigned Health Plan clients, supporting the delivery of operational excellence and client satisfaction. This role is responsible for coordinating across internal teams to ensure effective execution of client requirements, contract deliverables, and service activities.
The Account Manager works closely with internal partners and client stakeholders to manage day-to-day operations, resolve issues, and support implementation of programs and initiatives. Success in this role requires strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
As a key member of the account team, the Account Manager supports client retention and service delivery while contributing to overall account performance and relationship management.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Support execution of client action plans by coordinating activities, tracking progress, and maintaining alignment on priorities, timelines, and deliverables
- Assist with monitoring and execution of contractual obligations, including performance guarantees and reporting requirements
- Serve as a primary contact for day-to-day client inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate responses
- Partner with operational teams to support implementation and ongoing delivery of client programs and processes
- Track, manage, and support resolution of client issues, including documentation, escalation, and communication of status updates
- Coordinate with internal partners (Operations, Clinical, IT, Regulatory) to ensure clear understanding and execution of client requirements
- Support member outreach initiatives and program activities as needed
- Monitor data integrity and file exchange processes in partnership with Data Analytics; escalate issues as appropriate
- Assist with implementation activities in collaboration with cross-functional partners
- Support compliance with regulatory requirements and client-specific policies by partnering with Regulatory and Policy teams
- Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions, action items, and deliverables

Required Qualifications:
- Years of post-high school education can be substituted/is equivalent to years of experience
- 2+ years of client management, account coordination, or healthcare operations experience
- Proven solid written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Proven problem-solving skills with ability to escalate appropriately
- Proven solid presentation and project management skills
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally and build effective working relationships
- Proven high attention to detail and commitment to delivering excellent client service
- Demonstrates a high degree of client focus and attention to excellent service
Preferred Qualification:
- Experience in healthcare, PBM, or related industry

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $72,800 to $130,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
