The Senior Accountant will support the Home & Community Consolidations team, with primary responsibility for supporting complex monthly accounting, consolidated financial reporting, month-end close execution, SG&A accounting, and organizational initiatives. This role will apply independent accounting judgment to analyze complex issues, ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and internal policies, and strengthen processes and internal controls across multiple legal entities and businesses. The Senior Accountant will partner with Finance, Accounting, business stakeholders, and offshore resources to coordinate close activities, resolve reporting and control risks, improve and automate accounting processes, and support audit readiness. This role is ideal for a proactive professional who can independently manage priorities, demonstrate a growth mindset, and contribute to a collaborative team in a complex and evolving organization.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support complex accounting across multiple legal entities and businesses
  • Prepare, analyze, and coordinate consolidated financial reporting
  • Execute month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, data validation, variance analysis, and issue resolution
  • Partner with Finance to strengthen accounting support and oversight for the monthly SG&A estimate process
  • Coordinate with business partners and offshore accounting resources to ensure accurate, consistent, and timely financial reporting
  • Develop and enhance consolidated accounting processes, including accounts payable accruals and capital accounting, to reduce operational risk and strengthen controls
  • Support process improvement, automation, and audit readiness initiatives to enhance efficiency, scalability, and compliance

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting 
  • 3+ years of accounting experience, including month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations and variance analysis 
  • Demonstrated intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Demonstrated solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills 
  • Demonstrated solid attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Demonstrated effective time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated accountability and ownership of assigned responsibilities
  • Proven ability to identify process improvement opportunities and support automation initiatives
  • Ability to work CST business hours

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience identifying and implementing process improvements through technology and automation
  • Experience with Peoplesoft and Essbase
  • Large, matrix organization experience

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $60,200 - $107,400 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
