The Associate Director, Coding provides strategic and operational leadership across coding functions, managing multiple teams including managers and senior-level professionals. This role is responsible for driving performance, ensuring coding quality and compliance, and leading end-to-end coding operations at a functional or market level.

Primary Responsibilities:  

  • Lead and manage teams of managers, supervisors, and/or senior individual contributors
  • Own and execute end-to-end coding processes across assigned business areas
  • Develop and implement functional strategies, operational plans, and production priorities
  • Identify and resolve complex coding, operational, and organizational challenges
  • Drive performance, productivity, and quality outcomes across coding operations
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to support business and customer needs
  • Influence decision-making that impacts entire functions, markets, or customer accounts
  • Ensure alignment to organizational goals, compliance requirements, and coding standards

Required Qualifications: 

  • Experience leading managers and/or supervisors
  • Experience in medical coding, coding operations, or clinical documentation
  • Ability to lead multi-layered teams and large-scale operations
  • Driver's License and access to reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience in coding quality, risk adjustment, or CDI
  • Experience in large, matrixed healthcare organizations

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $112,700 to $193,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
