The Senior Financial Analyst will play a key role in supporting Optum Technology's quarterly revenue forecasting and annual rate-setting processes. This position partners closely with technology service owners, finance teams, operational leaders, and executive stakeholders to develop accurate forecasts, maintain financial models, validate business assumptions, and support enterprise chargeback and revenue recovery activities.
This role offers substantial ownership and visibility, with responsibility for coordinating forecasting activities across multiple stakeholders while driving continuous improvement in financial processes and reporting. The successful candidate will combine strong analytical skills with a curiosity for how systems, processes, and financial models work together to influence business outcomes.

Why This Role Matters
As forecasting complexity and stakeholder demand continue to grow, this position will help expand operational capacity, strengthen financial controls, improve scalability, and enhance the transparency of Optum Technology's forecasting and rate-setting processes. The analyst will have the opportunity to influence enterprise-wide financial decisions while helping shape the future direction of key finance operations.
This position is full time. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
We offer weeks of on-the-job training. The hours of the training will be based on schedule or will be discussed on your first day of employment.
Primary Responsibilities: Revenue Forecasting
- Support and coordinate the quarterly revenue forecasting cycle for Optum Technology services
- Partner with internal service teams, Optum Technology leaders, segment finance organizations, and finance leadership to collect, validate, and analyze forecast assumptions
- Maintain forecasting models and supporting analyses used to project technology revenue recovery
- Identify, investigate, and explain forecast variances, emerging trends, and financial risks
- Develop executive-ready reporting, presentations, and financial summaries for leadership review
- Drive accountability for forecast accuracy within assigned areas of ownership
- Recommend and implement process improvements that increase forecasting efficiency, accuracy, and transparency
- Establish strong working relationships across finance, operations, and technology organizations
Secondary Responsibilities: Rate Card & Recosting
- Support the annual Optum Technology Rate Card and Recosting process for approximately 100 technology services
- Maintain and enhance financial models used in the development of service rates and chargeback methodologies
- Coordinate data intake, validation, and reconciliation activities across multiple stakeholders
- Partner with service owners and finance teams to ensure cost, volume, and allocation inputs are complete and accurate
- Perform financial analyses to evaluate rate drivers, cost changes, volume impacts, and recovery assumptions
- Support governance activities, documentation standards, and financial controls related to the rate-setting process
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, automate manual activities, and improve reporting capabilities
- Assist with the development of recurring management reporting and audit-ready support documentation
- Participate in the implementation of process enhancements that improve scalability and operational effectiveness

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Information Systems, or related field
- Experience in financial planning and analysis, forecasting, corporate finance, accounting, or related analytical roles
- Experience in working with large datasets and performing detailed financial analysis
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling, data analysis, and complex formulas
- Communication skills with the ability to present complex financial concepts to diverse audiences
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with supporting forecasting, budgeting, chargeback, cost allocation, or rate-setting processes
- Experience with Power BI, Power Query, SQL, Alteryx, or similar analytical tools
- Experience with partnering across finance, operations, and technology organizations
- Exposure to process improvement methodologies or automation initiatives
- Knowledge of technology finance, IT cost recovery, or shared service financial models
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $60,200 - $107,400 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
