This Finance Position will support Optum Capital- inclusive of budgeting/forecasting, reporting, analytics, productivity, Benefit Tracking, AI Reporting, and other ad hoc financial support. Position work closely with senior leadership and SG&A teams.
This position is full-time. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.
This will be on the job training and the hours during training will be 8:00 am to 5:00 pm CST, Monday - Friday.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain financial reports to clearly communicate actual results, forecasted performance, and variances to plan, forecast and budget
- Assist with management reporting and system reconciliation
- Solves unique and complex problems with broad impact on the business
- AI Investment Strategy & Capital Allocation. Partner with Enterprise AI, Technology, and Business leaders to shape the AI investment roadmap
- Translates highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences
- Produce clear, well-formatted reports and presentations that communicate a clear, compelling message for management

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- 1+ years of finance/accounting or systems experience in post graduate or internship experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modeling experience
- Experience working collaboratively and influencing others within a matrix organization
- Ability to work full-time. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using Tableau, Power BI, Hyperion Essbase and PeopleSoft Financials
Telecommuting Requirements:
- Reside within commutable distance to the office at 1 Optum Circle, Eden Prairie, Minnesota
- Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
- Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
- Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service
Soft Skills:
- Proven ability to work independently with little supervision, prioritize work and be a self-starter
- Proven excellent written communication skills and the ability to verbally communicate ideas clearly & confidently
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Detail oriented; strong organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple responsibilities, deadlines and changing priorities
- Possess initiative, be a self-starter, self-directed, highly motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $60,200 - $107,400 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
