This position is National Remote. You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office for a minimum of four (4) days per week.

This role provides financial support to the Chief Data Office within Optum Technology, with a primary focus on headcount (FTE) tracking, FTE related expenses, and vendor technology costs. The analyst will organize and analyze financial data to create clear, accurate, and insightful reporting that supports decision making by CIO leaders.

The ideal candidate is detail oriented, collaborative, and comfortable working across finance and technology teams to translate complex data into a clear financial story.

This position is full time. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. 

This will be on the job training and the hours during training will be 8:00 am - 5:00 pm CST. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Track, analyze, and maintain accurate reporting of:
    • FTE headcount
    • FTE related expenses (compensation, benefits, allocations)
    • Vendor and third party technology costs
  • Partner closely with Chief Data Office leaders to support ongoing financial management and forecasting
  • Organize financial data into clear, structured views that enable storytelling and executive level insights for CIOs 
  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc financial reports, summaries, and presentations for leadership reviews
  • Support month end, forecast, and budget activities related to technology and workforce spend
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and alignment across multiple financial sources and reporting tools
  • Collaborate with peers across finance, technology, and operations to resolve data questions and drive shared understanding

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, OR a related field
  • 4+ years of experience in corporate finance, FP&A, OR a related analytical role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with both finance and non finance partners
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team oriented environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting technology, IT, OR operational organizations
  • Experience preparing materials for senior leadership OR executive audiences
  • Exposure to headcount management, workforce analytics, OR vendor cost tracking

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $91,700 - $163,700 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
