Position Summary
As a Senior Technical Product Manager within Optum Technology, you will drive the vision, roadmap, and execution of complex software products and technology solutions. In this role, you will collaborate closely with engineering, architecture, operations, and business stakeholders to translate strategic business objectives into robust, scalable technical solutions. You will lead cross-functional agile teams through feature definition, technical requirements gathering, sprint planning, and product delivery. Additionally, you will leverage enterprise-approved AI tools and modern productivity software to streamline product workflows, analyze user feedback, and accelerate delivery.

Primary Responsibilities
- Define and communicate the product strategy, technical roadmap, and release plans for complex technology products and platforms
- Partner with business leaders, software engineers, and system architects to translate business needs into technical user stories, epics, and detailed system requirements
- Use enterprise-approved AI tools to streamline product management workflows, automate routine documentation, and drive continuous process improvement
- Evaluate emerging tech trends and AI capabilities to inform solution design, backlog prioritization, and strategic product innovation
- Manage and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring technical debt, feature enhancements, and operational stability are appropriately balanced. Focus will be on claims & benefits related backlog
- Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, and acceptance criteria definitions within an Agile development environment
- Monitor product performance, usage metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) using data analytics tools to drive continuous product optimization
- Serve as the primary technical subject matter expert for the product, providing guidance to delivery teams and key business stakeholders
- Translate business needs into user stories and technical requirements
- Lead cross-functional alignment, decision-making, and stakeholder communication
- Improve claims and benefits experiences, increasing self-service and call deflection
- Partner on integrations, APIs, and data flows; use analytics to guide decisions
- Shape roadmap and scalable capabilities using customer insights and performance data

Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in technical product management, technical delivery, product ownership, or systems architecture within a technology setting
- 3+ years of experience defining technical product requirements, user stories, epics, and maintaining backlogs within an Agile/Scrum environment
- 3+ years of experience working directly with software engineering teams, APIs, cloud-based architecture, or complex data environments
- 2+ years of experience utilizing data analytics, digital tools, or AI-assisted productivity applications to optimize workflows and drive product decisions
- Proven experience managing product roadmaps and delivering enterprise-scale technology products from concept to launch
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the healthcare, health tech, or health insurance industry
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience)
- Active Agile or Product Management certification (e.g., CSPO, SAFe POPM, PMPO)
- Hands-on experience leveraging enterprise-approved AI tools, prompt engineering techniques, or AI-driven analytics software to enhance personal productivity
- Experience with modern cloud technology platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and enterprise architecture models
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to convey technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $91,700 to $163,700 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
