As a Senior Technical Project Manager on the Consumer Engineering - Optum team, you will play a critical role in driving key technology initiatives that support our mission to build a healthier world. Our team's vision is to build better consumer experiences, and we are currently working on developing and scaling intuitive, consumer-centric digital products. In this role, you will lead complex technical projects, collaborating closely with cross-functional engineering teams to deploy and scale innovative technology solutions, including building generative AI and other advanced technologies designed to optimize consumer pathways and reduce contact center costs. You will be at the forefront of combining modern project management practices with next-generation productivity tools, helping our engineering teams execute with speed, quality, and predictability.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Drive the execution of complex, cross-functional technical projects from initiation through delivery, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, technical requirements, and target timelines
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and leadership teams to define project scope, establish clear milestones, and maintain a high-quality product delivery lifecycle
- Use enterprise-approved AI and digital productivity tools to streamline workflows, automate project tracking tasks, and drive continuous improvement in project execution
- Proactively manage issues, risks, resource constraints, and project dependencies, formulating effective mitigation plans and escalating issues appropriately
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and present clear status updates to technical and business stakeholders
- Prepare and communicate status and progress updates to team and leadership.Proactively communicate on issues and risks
Leverage enterprise-approved AI tools to streamline workflows, automate tasks, and drive continuous improvement

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of experience leading and managing complex technical projects or software/infrastructure delivery within a large enterprise or technology-focused environment
- 3+ years of experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies and enterprise project tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Rally, Confluence)
- 3+ years of experience managing project budgets, risk mitigation, and cross-functional dependency mapping
Preferred Qualifications
- Project Management professional certification (e.g., PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, or SAFe certification, or similar)
- Experience managing projects involving conversational AI, generative AI applications, virtual assistants, or contact center technology modernization
- Experience in consumer-facing technology products
- Experience in the healthcare technology sector or managing large-scale healthcare IT implementations
- Familiarity with cloud-native architectures (e.g., AWS, Azure) and modern software development lifecycles (SDLC)
- Track record of evaluating and incorporating emerging technology solutions, such as generative AI assistants, to enhance personal and team productivity
- Demonstrated experience communicating effectively and proactively with team and leadership
- Proven capability to lead and coordinate distributed, cross-functional technical teams

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $91,700 to $163,700 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
