We are seeking a Software Engineer to design, build, and scale modern micro product experiences as part of the KTC (Kill the Clipboard) ecosystem. In this role, you will focus on patient-facing applications, developing highly performance, accessible architectures, and collaborating across cross-functional teams to modernize workflows and deliver end-to-end features. You will help drive the modernization of legacy applications into reusable UI components and shared libraries, creating real-time experiences that directly improve healthcare interactions. Additionally, you will play a key role in integrating AI-powered capabilities and utilizing modern AI development tools to innovate and optimize our development workflows.

You will enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and deploy scalable micro-frontends and supporting backend services to deliver modern patient-facing product experiences
  • Build responsive, highly accessible, and high-performance web and mobile applications using modern frameworks
  • Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and backend engineering teams to deliver features end-to-end
  • Modernize legacy applications into modular, performant, and maintainable architecture
  • Develop reusable UI components and shared libraries to support the KTC ecosystem's design patterns
  • Implement real-time system features, including messaging, notifications, and client-side state synchronization
  • Ensure code quality through extensive testing, automated linting, and continuous integration best practices
  • Optimize application performance, security, and reliability in a high-scale environment
  • Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered solutions to address complex business challenges with an emphasis on the responsible use of AI
  • Use enterprise-approved AI tools to streamline engineering workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and drive continuous improvement
  • Evaluate emerging technical trends and AI capabilities to inform solution design, architectural patterns, and strategic innovation
  • Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered solutions to address complex business challenges with emphasis on responsible use of AI

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related field OR equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of software engineering experience in a professional or team environment
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with JavaScript or TypeScript
  • 2+ years of experience with React or a similar modern frontend framework
  • 1+ years of experience with Next.js or comparable Server-Side Rendering (SSR) frameworks
  • 1+ years of experience building modular or micro-frontend architectures
  • 1+ years of experience integrating applications with REST or GraphQL APIs
  • 1+ years of experience working with Node.js or backend microservices
  • 1+ years of experience using automated testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, React Testing Library)
  • 1+ years of experience with Git and CI/CD tools

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Experience with React Native or mobile app development
  • Experience with real-time systems (e.g., WebSockets, Socket.IO, pub/sub architectures)
  • Experience with databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB) or caching mechanisms (e.g., Redis)
  • Deep understanding of web design systems and digital accessibility best practices (e.g., WCAG)
  • Exposure to integrating AI/ML models or Large Language Model (LLM)-based features into user-facing applications
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience building patient-facing or healthcare software applications

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $72,800 to $130,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
