The SVP, Clinical Insights & Analytics is a senior leader within the Optum Insight Product organization responsible for defining and building a next generation product portfolio of data-driven clinical products and platforms.This role sits at the intersection of clinical data, advanced analytics, and product commercialization, transforming Optum's differentiated data assets into market-leading solutions that improve outcomes, enable decision-making, and drive growth.
This leader will transform clinical data, analytics and decision intelligence into commercialized products, embedding actionable insights into provider and payer workflows and advancing Optum's position as a leader in AI-enabled, insight-driven care delivery.

For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
Identify, validate, and scale commercial opportunities utilizing diverse clinical datasets (e.g., EHR, claims, and clinical notes) to solve complex healthcare ecosystem challenges.
Lead the design and deployment of products that embed advanced insights and decision-support engines directly into clinical workflows and clinician decision-making systems.
Lead development and deployment of AI-powered LLM solutions that transform clinical, provider, and consumer data into actionable insights, enabling improved care pathways, quality outcomes, and personalized wellness while driving measurable impact on utilization, cost, and health outcomes.
Own Optum Insight clinical data across the businesses
Partner cross-functionally with Product Management, Engineering, Sales, and Clinical leadership to translate analytical capabilities into scalable, market-leading product features.
Strategically use AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics to solve problems, unlock new commercial opportunities, and deliver tangible business value.
Integrate enterprise-approved AI tools and advanced technical competencies into product development pipelines, setting goals to accelerate adoption and remove barriers to innovation.
Champion the ethical use of AI and clinical modeling by embedding transparency, fairness, clinical validation, and accountability throughout the entire development lifecycle.
Champion AI and analytics as core drivers of product and team success, proactively shaping how model-driven capabilities are developed, deployed, and utilized.
Establish robust clinical validation and data governance frameworks to ensure all data and analytics products align with clinical safety, quality, and regulatory compliance standards.
Serve as key advisor to leadership on clinical data and insights strategy
Monitor competitive landscape and emerging trends to inform product strategy

Required Qualifications:
12+ years of experience in healthcare analytics, data product commercialization, or health informatics
10+ years of experience leading clinical analytics, healthcare data science, or technical data product teams
5+ years of experience managing senior-level professionals and driving product or analytics organization strategy
Proven track record of commercializing clinical data assets, including launching 2+ data products or clinical APIs
Demonstrated experience integrating clinical analytics, predictive models, or decision support tools into EHR workflows (e.g., Epic, Cerner) using industry standards such as FHIR and HL7
Demonstrated experience deploying advanced analytics, machine learning, or AI models in a production healthcare product environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree, PhD, or MD in Health Informatics, Data Science, Computer Science, Public Health, or a related clinical or quantitative field
Deep understanding of clinical data architectures, healthcare terminologies, and data privacy regulations
Proven success in high-growth, matrixed corporate environments, with exceptional executive stakeholder communication and change-management skills
Expertise in driving enterprise AI strategy, adoption, and responsible AI governance.
Solid knowledge of healthcare reimbursement models, value-based care, and payer/provider business workflows

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $225,000-$375,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
