The Business Process Consultant will be part of the Cozeva Operations team. The position is responsible for creating business requirements, completing in depth analysis, owning the development of project plans, being the liaison between the business (Optum CDO, CQE team) CDP team and Cozeva, and recommending areas of improvement. Business process consultant will also be responsible for the coordination and completion of projects across various functional areas including Cozeva enhancement, special projects to improve quality data validation, and health plan submissions. Provides subject matter expertise in areas including HEDIS and STARs quality measures, Cozeva as a quality tool of choice and other quality workflows specific to Optum CDOs leveraging Cozeva as a quality tool.

For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversees and manages the operational aspects of assigned projects and maintains a project management mindset when completing projects
- Maintains and analyzes project schedule and prepares regular status reports for management and key stakeholders
- Leads complex projects that require cross functional coordination. Work closely with all departments to accomplish mutual goals and strategies in order to achieve company goals
- Lead and manage full project life cycle including creation, design, specification, development, implementation, and overall change management
- Coordinate and facilitate stakeholder meetings; prepare and issue agendas with appropriate backup materials; take minutes and provide follow-up correspondence
- Develops and maintains strong relationships with both internal/externals customers including 3rd party vendor (Cozeva), IT, enterprise-wide business units, Optum Care Delivery Organizations and senior executives to influence project teams and gain consensus on the selection of the most viable solutions
- Responsible for representing the directives of senior leadership and acts as a key liaison on cross functional projects as required
- Understands and helps prioritize projects, business initiatives and strategic plans
- Manages risk by bridging interdepartmental gaps, by connecting information within the organization
- Acts as a centralized facilitating point for the coordination of tasks and integrated execution of key strategic initiatives and reduces activities carried out in isolation
- Works through issues and roadblocks with internal and external stakeholders to reach amicable solutions that balance the needs of all parties without compromising the integrity of the agreed upon contract
- Displays the ability to question assumptions or challenges the status quo, as well as understanding resistance to change in the organization and helping individuals work through it
- Recommends opportunities and/or action plans for improved performance based on business need
- Collaborates with project managers, program managers, business analysts, training teams, and other stakeholders to ensure inputs, processes and outputs are captured and maintained for effective implementation
- Performs all other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in healthcare quality measurement and performance improvement, with demonstrated knowledge of HEDIS and CMS Star Ratings
2+ years of experience in full lifecycle projects within healthcare quality or performance improvement environments, including ROI assessment, cross‑functional team coordination, and change management related to quality initiatives (e.g., HEDIS, Stars, or regulatory reporting).
Experience with Microsoft Office Software Programs/Smartsheet or other project management tool
Ability to manage group relationships with diverse geographic locations, skills and level of understanding of company processes and policy
Effectively operate through complex organizational situations with ability to anticipate obstacles and plan appropriate approach
Ability to influence and interact comfortably with all levels of professional and line level staff.
Ability to interact one-on-one and consult with all levels of leadership
Preferred Qualification:
Health plan, healthcare or clinic operations experience
Problem solving capabilities resulting in significant business impact and customer satisfaction.
Detail-oriented and ability to identify potential risk or problems and find resolution
Excellent written and oral skills

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $91,700 to $163,700 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
