Primary Responsibilities:
Epic System Build & Optimization
- Lead and maintain core Epic system build, including ongoing configuration, enhancements, and optimization
- Define, document, and validate system design requirements in collaboration with clinical and operational stakeholders
- Analyze and document current-state workflows and translate them into future-state system design
- Partner with end users across all levels to evaluate system needs and recommend improvements
- Participate in and support system upgrades, special updates, and enhancement initiatives
- Track and prioritize system enhancement requests, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
- Collaborate with Epic technical staff and implementers to troubleshoot and resolve system issues
- Perform system maintenance activities such as imports, configuration updates, and basic reporting
- Ensure system build complies with organizational (Optum) policies, standards, and governance
- Maintain Epic certification(s) and continuously expand application knowledge
- Translate complex data and operational needs into actionable business and system requirements
- Evaluate information from multiple sources to distinguish business needs from user requests and optimize scope, benefits, and risks
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Adhere to Epic and organizational change control processes and standards
- Develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive testing plans and test scripts
- Coordinate and support unit, integrated, and user acceptance testing activities
- Ensure timely and effective communication of system changes to impacted users and teams
- Contribute to development and refinement of policies and procedures related to Epic system use
Training & Knowledge Sharing
- Partner with training teams to support rollout of new functionality and system updates
- Provide training and guidance to end users, both individually and in group settings
- Participate in clinic and operational meetings to promote effective use of the Epic system
- Develop and maintain user-facing documentation, FAQs, and best practices
User Support & Service Excellence
- Provide high-quality customer support for end users, including troubleshooting and issue resolution
- Document system issues, root causes, and resolutions to support knowledge sharing
- Maintain and update support documentation, including FAQs and standard work
- Meet or exceed established customer service and response standards
Project Management & Delivery
- Manage and/or support projects involving Epic system enhancements and new functionality
- Define project scope, key milestones, deliverables, and dependencies
- Prioritize work effectively and proactively communicate risks, barriers, and mitigation strategies
- Partner with project managers and stakeholders to ensure alignment with timelines and objectives
- Facilitate meetings, workgroups, and stakeholder discussions; track and execute follow-up actions
- Identify system interfaces, dependencies, constraints, and quality considerations
- Support planning, coordination, and execution of testing and production deployments
- Develop and deliver clear, concise project presentations and status updates
- Participate in cross-functional initiatives and special projects as assigned
Leadership & Continuous Improvement
- Mentor and provide guidance to associate and intermediate analysts
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and development of team members
- Promote a collaborative team environment and knowledge sharing across the team
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and lead initiatives to enhance efficiency and system effectiveness
- Communicate change strategies and support adoption across stakeholders

Required Qualifications:
Certificate/License: Minimum of one EPIC Certification required in the following applications-Resolute Professional Billing/Claims, Tapestry
4+ years of experience in health care organizations and clinic flow and standards
4+ years of experience working with EMRs
4+ years of experience working with all levels of staff to determine clinic needs and best practices
2+ years of progressive management experience
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft office products
Ability to occasionally travel, per business need (likely 1-2 times per year)
Ability to work standard daytime hours within CST or PST
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of system implementations
Minimum of three to five years healthcare experience
Three to five years working with clinical systems
Minimum of two full life-cycle implementations
Clinical background for front-end roles
Technical experience for back end roles
Proficiency with all Microsoft products

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $91,700 to $163,700 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
