Position Summary

The Vice President of Nursing serves as the senior nursing leader for ProHealth Physicians and is responsible for nursing strategy, professional practice, clinical quality, workforce development, and nursing operations across the organization. Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, this leader oversees site-based nursing operations, centralized nursing functions, workforce health and safety programs, and clinical operations while advancing an integrated nursing care model that supports high-quality, efficient, and patient-centered care.

The Vice President of Nursing plays a critical role in connecting enterprise programs with frontline care delivery. This leader must have exceptional skills of fostering solid collaboration between centralized services and practice-based teams, ensuring that ProHealth operates as a unified, integrated care delivery organization. Successful candidates must have proven ability to align enterprise priorities with frontline execution, eliminate operational silos, and create seamless workflows that improve patient outcomes, workforce experience, and organizational performance.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership
    • Develop and execute enterprise nursing strategy
    • Establish the vision for ambulatory nursing practice across ProHealth
    • Lead nursing-related organizational transformation initiatives
    • Serve as a key member of the Clinical Leadership Team
    • Partner with executive leaders to achieve strategic and operational objectives
  • Nursing Operations
    • Provide executive oversight of all nursing operations
    • Establish staffing models and nursing care standards
    • Ensure consistency in nursing workflows and scope of practice
    • Drive standardization across all practices
    • Monitor system-wide clinical and operational performance
  • Quality & Safety
    • Oversee nursing quality and patient safety initiatives
    • Partner with compliance, risk, and quality leaders
    • Ensure readiness for regulatory and accreditation requirements
    • Advance a culture of safety and continuous improvement
  • Workforce Development
    • Build the nursing leadership pipeline
    • Develop succession planning strategies
    • Improve recruitment, retention, and engagement
    • Foster professional growth and nursing excellence
  • Clinical Integration
    • Partner with Practice Programs & Services leadership to ensure alignment between centralized services and frontline operations
    • Lead efforts to create seamless workflows across care settings
    • Ensure enterprise initiatives are effectively implemented at the site level

Required Qualifications:

  • BSN
  • Current CT Nursing license
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification 
  • 5+ years of direct, hands-on Nursing experience
  • 5+ years of management experience within a healthcare environment
  • Experience with EPIC electronic medical record systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite with emphasis on Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Demonstrated expertise in one or more areas of clinical standards of practice
  • Proven exceptional communication skills/professional presence with ability to lead and drive change
  • Proven operational performance management include use of metrics to measure performance

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $134,600 - $230,800 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
