Assesses, monitors, and maintains imaging staff internal quality assurance measures for assigned modality at all KSC imaging locations. Able to work individually on a team or project teams and can multi-task. Under general direction, formulates/defines scope and objectives Quality and Compliance programs. May be responsible for completion of a phase of a project or responsible for leading and completing a project. Maintain required records for regulatory and accrediting bodies as assigned by Medical Imaging Quality and Compliance Manager. Regularly provides guidance and training during NEO and beyond as needed. Works with business owners, physicians, clinicians, stakeholders, and IT personnel to assess and develop best practice models. Provide weekly status updates on project(s) progress. Position will require travel to KSC clinic locations for implementation, training and support. Other duties as assigned.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Image Quality: Evaluates imaging services and technical quality assurance measures for applicable sites to monitor performance of studies in keeping with policies, procedures, and protocols. Understands and applies technical principles affecting optimal production of images, as well as anatomical orientation, and anomalies affecting proper imaging techniques. Ability to mentor and coach staff related to ongoing quality and compliance support as requested by management, in addition to providing problem resolution, questions and answer services. Documents variances, equipment malfunctions, and artifacts; reports to Medical Imaging Quality & Compliance Manager and applicable Medical Imaging Leadership
• Federal/State Compliance: Works closely with Medical Imaging Leadership, staff, and lead physician(s) to assist all sites with accreditation by obtaining signatures, submission of application, and all tasks associated with the accreditation process. Gathers and maintains continuing education records for radiologists as it pertains to modality specific accreditation requirements in areas of responsibilities. Serves as a resource to Medical Imaging Leadership with all new clinic openings with equipment set up and any additional facility support as needed. Responsible for identifying, obtaining, and maintaining all records for TDH and FDA regarding applicable personnel or equipment changes. Serves as or assists the RSO/MRSO with radiation exposure monitoring and associate record-keeping. Works with medical physicists to ensure Kelsey-Seybold functions within the recommended guidelines. Remains current on recommended and best practice radiation safety protocols and programs, updates and assists with creation of training materials for review by MIQCM. Corrects errors and is responsible for maintaining the integrity of data/images sent to PACS by staff. Logs, tracks, and trends staff and system errors for review by MIQCM
• Project Management: Able to define, lead and conduct projects as assigned in accordance with standard KSC project management processes and documentation standards. Provide consultation for imaging program design, testing, and documentation with imaging teams. Maintain complete and up to date documentation for all assigned projects. Work with project team members so that defined objectives and benefits are achieved
• Serves as a member to assigned user group(s) or imaging committee groups. Is a self-starter and resourceful
• Onboarding: Mentor imaging team members so that defined objectives and benefits are achieved. Serves as a resource and advocate for assigned imaging modality(s). Establish strong working relationships with members of the imaging teams to ensure proposed quality and compliance changes are thoroughly vetted and potentially adverse downstream consequences are discovered. Develop and communicate risk mitigation strategies
• Participate/support in Help Desk service, working service desk tickets
• Proficiency: Maintain competent application knowledge, proficiency and problem-solving skills, as well as expert level understanding of standard imaging quality and compliance processes. Serves as a preceptor to new technologists and agency staff. Maintains required documentation of new staff orientation as well as mcredentials. Assists with providing department specific training
• Optimization: Leads or support implementation efforts for imaging quality and compliance improvements in accordance with KSC standard change control and change management procedures. Communicates system changes to all applicable users and stakeholders. Identifies opportunities for process improvements to include, but not limited to safety, quality, staff development, workflow efficiencies, new technology et. al.; makes recommendations to MIQCM
• Communication/Customers Relations: Maintain effective working relationships with Project Sponsors from KSC imaging leadership. Assess assigned user areas as needed per project and maintain direct working relationships with application vendor technical staff, in order to facilitate rapid problem resolution and service delivery, where vendor services are needed. Possesses the ability to effectively communicate relevant information, in a clear and concise manner, at all levels of the organization. Promotes and practices effective listening skills in all interpersonal contacts. Demonstrates competence in grammar and clarity in all oral and written communication

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, Radiologic Technology, and/or MRI
• Certification/Registry in NM, US, Radiology (R) or (M) or (CT), or MRI, or IR
• 3+ years of experience to include regulatory and quality control/assurance responsibilities
• Familiarity with accreditation parameters
• Proficiency in use of desktop computer systems (Windows, Microsoft Office, email) and experience in use of clinical or practice management systems in medical practice
• Solid understanding of image acquisition, both technical, and technological aspects, in at least 1 modality offered by KSC
• Excellent communication, relationship, teamwork and project management skills. Demonstrate strong conceptual, process and data analysis skills, and in depth understanding of medical imaging informatics, clinical and operating data sets. Strong understanding of imaging practice operations, and ways improved imaging quality management that can lead to clinical, operating and financial improvement in a health care organization
• Familiarity with Patient Archiving Systems (PACS) and Radiology Information Systems (RIS)
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Organized, and detail-oriented

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification/registry in additional imaging modalities. Six Sigma or other process improvement and/quality mgt certifications    
• Experience in quality improvement, or quality control position with accreditation responsibilities
• Proficiency in other Quality Management tools and computer programs

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $91,700 - $163,700 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
