The Oncology Nurse Navigator will serve as a single point of contact for oncology patients, their caregivers and referring physicians to assist is accessing clinical and supportive services across the continuum of oncology care. He/she will facilitate patient appointments, including diagnostics, specialty services and consults, as well as offering educational and emotional support.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with the physicians in all specialty areas to coordinate the patient's referral to the Hematology/Oncology. She/he will schedule within the guidelines established in the Hematology/Oncology department for appropriate appointments scheduling
  • Works with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate the patient's care through infusion, radiation therapy and outside institutions
  • Maintains active professional relationships with physicians and their office staff by assessing and meeting their needs and levels of satisfaction. Is able to conduct business during stressful situations appropriately
  • Consistently demonstrates a positive attitude by adhering to Kelsey-Seybold Clinic's Mission and Values and Universal Truths
  • Maintains workspace in safe condition. Adheres to all facility safety regulations and guidelines regarding patient and staff safety as evidence by: Attends safety meetings and training, Identifies, corrects, repotrts unsafe conditions immediately, participates in Kelsey-Seybold Emergency preparedness plan
  • Complies with State, Federal, and local rules and regulations, accreditation guidelines and Center policies, procedures and bylaws
  • Assumes responsibilities for remaining current on job-related knowledge a and skills and ongoing education/in-service/credentialing/certification requirements in accordance with policy and procedures. To be familiar with all equipment and demonstrate the ability to utilize equipment and resources in a cost- effective and safe manner
  • Provides education and information to the patient and family, helping to make the care seamless and continuous and comprehensive. Supports patients during difficult decision-making periods. Assisting in coordination of end of life care for patient and family and provide emotional support
  • All other duties as assigned by the supervisor/ manager

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or one to one: substitute years of supervisory/management administrative experience (4 years)
  • Current RN license or valid permit to practice professional nursing in Texas
  • BLS through American Heart Assoc. 
  • ONC certification or obtain with in 12 months of hire
  • 2+ years of clinical RN experience
  • 2+ years of Oncology experience
  • Ability to use equipment and related suppliers for a selected patient population
  • Ability to use mechanical devices, such as those used in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, oxygen administration, and intravenous therapy


Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $60,200 - $107,400 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
