This role leads and mentors a small team of software engineers while remaining actively involved in hands‑on development and technical design. The Associate Manager is accountable for delivery, code quality, and engineering standards, and plays a key role in building scalable, secure, and reliable backend and automation systems.
The role balances hands‑on coding with day‑to‑day team leadership and execution ownership.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Engineering & Development
- Lead and mentor a team of software engineers while remaining actively involved in coding and technical design
- Design, build, and maintain backend services and automation frameworks using Python
- Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform to provision and manage cloud environments
- Review code, guide system design decisions, and ensure adherence to modern engineering standards
- Platform & DevOps Collaboration
- Partner with architecture, DevOps, and platform teams to build secure, scalable, and resilient systems
- Establish and enforce best practices for CI/CD pipelines, testing, observability, and operational readiness
- Support production systems with focus on reliability, scalability, and continuous improvement
- Delivery & Execution
- Drive technical execution across multiple initiatives while balancing hands‑on development and team leadership
- Own delivery commitments and ensure timely, high‑quality outcomes
- Identify delivery risks early and work with stakeholders to resolve them
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience)
- Solid hands‑on experience with Python for backend development, automation, or tooling
- Solid experience with DevOps tools and practices, including CI/CD, automation, and version control
- Experience working with cloud platforms and infrastructure automation (IaaS/PaaS concepts)
- Experience supporting production systems with high reliability expectations
- Hands‑on experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform
- Solid understanding of software development lifecycles, Agile methods, and operational support models
- Proficiency in scripting or programming for automation (Python, Bash, or similar)
- Demonstrated ability to work in cross‑functional teams
- Proven solid communication skills with engineering, platform, and operations stakeholders
