Quality Engineer (System testing, API testing, Java-Selenium, SQL)

Primary Responsibilities:

• Execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for system enhancements, new features, and configuration changes
• Validate system functionality against documented business requirements, acceptance criteria, and credit policy guidelines
• Create and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts, including positive, negative, and edge case scenarios
• Perform system testing (end-to-end, integration, and regression) to ensure application stability, performance, and reliability across multiple components
• Test and validate Web APIs and services, including RESTful APIs, ensuring correct request/response handling, data integrity, authentication, authorization, and error handling
• Validate credit and underwriting configurations, such as policy rules, score thresholds, pricing, tiering, and eligibility logic
• Confirm underwriting outcomes align with approved business intent and policy documentation
• Identify, document, and track defects or configuration issues, clearly outlining reproduction steps and expected vs. actual results
• Partner with Engineering and Product teams to support defect triage, retesting, and regression testing
• Provide clear testing updates, defect summaries, and UAT feedback to stakeholders
• Contribute to the ongoing improvement of testing processes, documentation, and quality standards
• Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:

• Solid experience in functional, system, and UAT testing
• Hands-on experience in API testing tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or equivalent
• Experience in validating backend services, data flows, and integrations
• Experience in test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar)
• Basic knowledge of SQL/database validation for backend testing
• Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools (JIRA, Azure DevOps, etc.)
• Good understanding of service-oriented architecture (SOA) / microservices-based systems
• Proven ability to develop and maintain automated test scripts for UI and API layers
• Proven exposure to CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into build/release processes
• Proven solid analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in testing AI/ML-driven systems, including validation of model outputs, confidence scores, and edge-case behaviors
• Experience in identifying bias, inconsistencies, and data quality issues in AI/ML outputs
• Knowledge of prompt engineering basics and validating responses from LLM-based systems (e.g., GPT, Copilot)
• Understanding of AI/ML concepts such as supervised/unsupervised learning, model evaluation, and data quality validation
• Proven ability to validate OCR / document extraction systems (e.g., Azure Document Intelligence, GPT-based extraction), including accuracy checks for structured and handwritten data
• Familiarity with automation for AI testing, such as:
  • Creating validation scripts for model outputs
  • Comparing expected vs. predicted results using datasets
  • Integrating AI validation into CI/CD pipelines
• Proven exposure to test strategies for AI systems, including:
  • Scenario-based validation
  • Boundary and fuzz testing for model inputs
  • Regression validation for model changes
