We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL pipelines and data solutions that support business reporting and analytics. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SQL, Python (PySpark), and cloud-based data platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Microsoft Fabric. You will play a key role in ensuring data accuracy, availability, and performance, while enabling downstream reporting through tools like Power BI and Looker.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines for large-scale data processing using modern cloud-native frameworks and tools
- Build and manage data workflows using PySpark and SQL to process and transform data efficiently across distributed systems
- Develop and maintain scalable data models for analytics and reporting that support business intelligence requirements
- Integrate data from multiple sources into cloud data platforms including GCP and Microsoft Fabric
- Ensure data quality, validation, and governance across all data pipelines and workflows
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate reporting requirements into technical data solutions
- Support performance tuning and optimization of data pipelines and queries to maintain system efficiency
- Enable seamless data integration with BI tools such as Power BI and Looker for end-user analytics
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:
- Solid experience in ETL pipeline development and data engineering, with a proven track record of building production-grade data systems
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Microsoft Fabric for cloud data platform implementations
- Experience with data processing frameworks such as Dataflow and Spark for data processing
- Experience building data pipelines for business intelligence and reporting use cases that enable data-driven decision-making
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and analytics workflows
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python (PySpark) for data transformation and processing workflows
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Open Telemetry (OTel) Collector for telemetry ingestion and processing in distributed data systems
- Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and performance diagnostics for data platforms to ensure system reliability and efficiency
- Understanding of distributed tracing including traces, spans, and context propagation for system observability
- Familiarity with Google Cloud Trace (GCP Trace) for monitoring and observability of cloud-based data pipelines
- Proven exposure to observability frameworks in cloud-native architectures for system performance monitoring
