We are seeking a Senior / Lead Quality Engineer to provide end‑to‑end quality ownership for Practice Assist, a critical healthcare platform. This role will lead quality strategy, drive automation and process improvements, mentor QEs, and ensure stable, compliant, and scalable releases. The position plays a key role in reducing production issues, improving release confidence, and strengthening overall QA maturity.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Own quality strategy and execution across the SDLC for Practice Assist modules
• Lead test planning, execution, and release sign‑off for functional, integration, and regression testing
• Drive automation strategy and implementation (UI/API), including CI/CD integration and coverage improvement
• Act as quality lead for defect triage, prioritization, and resolution
• Perform and review Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for production and recurring issues; drive preventive actions
• Support UAT, production releases, and post‑deployment validation
• Collaborate closely with Product, Development, Performance, and Support teams
• Mentor junior QEs and promote a quality‑first culture
• Ensure compliance with Optum QA standards, HIPAA, and PHI guidelines
• Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience in Quality Engineering or Software Testing
• Hands‑on experience with test automation frameworks (UI and API)
• Experience leading quality initiatives or providing QE technical leadership
• Solid expertise in manual testing, test design, and defect management
• Solid understanding of Agile, SDLC, and CI/CD pipelines
• Proven solid communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in healthcare or regulated environments
• Exposure to performance testing and production support
