Role Overview

The Technical Project Consultant supports the operational execution and coordination of enterprise‑scale technical learning programs within OTU. The role enables the smooth delivery of OTU initiatives by partnering with program managers, engineering stakeholders, and operations teams.

This position operates at the intersection of technical programs, learning operations, and cross‑functional coordination, ensuring learning initiatives are delivered efficiently, accurately, and at scale.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support day‑to‑day operations of OTU technical learning programs, ensuring alignment with program timelines and objectives
  • Coordinate with OTU program managers to track activities, dependencies, milestones, and follow‑ups
  • Support learner onboarding, participation tracking, enrollment changes, and issue resolution
  • Coordinate execution of learning programs by working with learners, facilitators, and stakeholders
  • Track learner participation, status, and progress across programs
  • Collaborate with OTU Operations, program managers, and functional stakeholders to ensure consistent program execution
  • Coordinate with engineering, cloud, AI, and security stakeholders, including Tiger Teams, SMEs, and platform/tooling owners
  • Support alignment between enterprise engineering standards and day‑to‑day developer workflows reflected in learning content
  • Serve as a central point of coordination for operational communications, status updates, and follow‑ups
  • Identify operational gaps, inefficiencies, and recurring issues; support improvements to OTU processes, tracking, and documentation
  • Stay informed on modern engineering trends (AI tooling, cloud platforms, developer productivity) to ensure learning programs remain relevant as they scale
  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of professional experience managing projects in a technical organization
  • Experience supporting technical or learning programs in an enterprise environment
  • Experience working in or alongside technology, engineering, or IT organizations
  • Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS) (e.g., MyLearning or similar)
  • Experience curating and maintaining technical content such as documentation, learning modules, labs, or reference materials
  • Exposure to AI‑assisted development tools or ML‑adjacent workflows, and staying current with evolving capabilities
  • Familiarity with operational processes supporting training, education, or workforce enablement
  • Proven ability to work effectively with cross‑functional technical and non‑technical stakeholders
  • Proven ability to represent established engineering best practices in cross‑functional discussions
  • Proven solid coordination, organizational, and prioritization skills with attention to detail
  • Proven solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven comfort working with learning systems, trackers, and operational reporting tools

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience contributing to or reviewing internal training, documentation, or enablement materials
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Proven comfort working in fast‑evolving environments where learning content must adapt quickly

Why This Role

  • Influence how thousands of Optum engineers learn and adopt modern engineering practices
  • Enable program managers and engineering leaders to focus on strategy and content through solid operational execution
  • Collaborate with senior engineering, architecture, and security leaders on high‑impact learning initiatives
  • Play a key role in scaling OTU's learning programs through reliable, well‑coordinated operations
