Optum Financial engages with Employers in the National Account market segment where consultants and advisory firms are critical partners in the decisioning process. The Vice President of Consultant Relationships is an executive-level opportunity for a candidate with solid knowledge of Health Benefit Accounts/Consumer Driven Healthcare industry, solid financial acumen, well-honed relationship skills, along with a solid network of key stakeholders within HBA consultant firms. This individual will be responsible for owning Optum Financial relationship and driving strategy leveraging thought leadership with national HBA consulting firms.

For all hires within 30 minutes of an office in Minnesota or Washington, D.C., you'll be required to work a minimum of four days per week in-office.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and facilitate execution of national strategies that drive the growth and retention of Optum Financial business through the consultant channel
- Enhance Optum Financial reputation and partnership with key leaders in HBA/CDH consultant firms
- Work with the consultant community to gain insight that leads to developing even more effective solutions that help employers and their beneficiaries
- Employ a broad set of general management and problem-solving skills while working across business functions to help define innovative new solutions and drive the realization of results
- Deliver opportunity-level results through collaboration with internal client development and management teams
Representative Functions:
- Drive net growth of our business with the HBA consultant firm(s) and an increase in securing favorable ratings across our relationships with consultant firm(s) assigned
- Foster personal relationships with targeted HBA consultants at all levels across the country for assigned firm(s). Provide support to drive business objectives
- Own consultant relationship planning for new and existing business including formulating longer term, mid-range and short-term goals and actions. The results should be the net growth of our business
- Achieve a solid voice and relationship across the UHC and Optum organization while shaping Optum Financial Employer strategy
- Position yourself as Leader and coordinate with business partners across the organization. Facilitate internal communication with Sales, Client Management, Operations, UHC, Optum and other areas within Optum Financial regarding consultant relations strategy and initiatives. Coordinate and influence strategy by developing and maintaining solid inter-company relationships
- Ensure that consultants have the right relationship development opportunities across Optum Financial and monitor the relationship status / issues, driving remediation where needed
- Lead engagement strategy and agenda with HBA consultant firm(s) to drive the business plan through annual consultant events and national leadership meetings, among others. Leverage these interactions to drive your business objectives
- Oversee regular consultant communications to ensure our message is shared effectively
- Spearhead in the development of National solutions that simplify our interactions with consultants and, where possible, avoid the need for redundant one-off solutions to create efficiencies for Optum Financial and our HBA consultant firms
- Lead resolution of issues should they arise within our organization with HBA consultant firms
- Collect market feedback on our offerings and leverage that to develop plans to improve our offerings for Employers

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 10+ years of solid business management experience in the Health Benefit Account segment specifically working for or directly with a major HBA consultant firm that focuses on serving the Fortune 1000 marketplace
- Expertise in Health Benefit Accounts industry and solid network of key stakeholders at HBA Consultant Firms
- Ability to travel 25% nationally
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or Master's degree
- Working at a top HBA Industry Leading consultant firm
- Fundamental understanding of the financial levers of our business and how they impact employers

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $200,400 to $343,500 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
